Jason Bateman understands that fans of "Arrested Development" are hoping for any update on the status of a film continuation.

While he doesn't mind answering the questions about it everywhere he goes, because he appreciates the enthusiasm, he explained on "The Daily Show" that he gets a little irritated by how the media handles those moments:

We all enjoyed your work on "Arrested Development" and we'd all like to know if there's a movie coming out that would continue the narrative arc, the character arc... we'd all like to know if it is in the works?

The movie... yes ... it is in the works. However, all of us associated with the show feel like real tools when we're asked this question, which we're asked often and we'd love to answer it, but frustratingly there's never a significant update.

However that doesn't stop the fringe media, present company excluded sir (nods to Jon Stewart), from taking that 'well there is no update' to them writing a headline 'BATEMAN TALKS ABOUT ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT MOVIE' and then you would click through and there was no update.

So I hesitate to answer but I wll say that we will make this movie the second they give Mitch Hurwitz, our boss, exactly what he's asking for because the man is the second-coming.
