Anyone like to do certain things to make themselves feel better when you're sick?

For example, whenever I'm sick and can't eat the entire day (this happened to me last week. Woah, it was miserable), I'll walk up to the local deli near my house early the next morning, when I'm still weak but otherwise okay to function, and order an egg sandwich and Mint Tea Snapple. The combination of the heavy food and refreshing iced tea after a long day of feeling sick and unable to eat fills me up and just does the trick.

If I have something like a cold, though, and can still eat, walk around, function....well, I'll usually just take a really hot shower to clear everything out and subsist on soup, tea, and hot food for the day. Lots of rest is also required, as I'm usually quite wiped when I have a cold.

Any little routines you like to do when you're sick? Watch a favorite movie? Indulge in some guilty pleasure type foods? Sleep the day away? :)

I very rarely get sick. I do get days when I have a head-cold or the occasional stomach or head pains, but I rarely get sick to the point where I can't get out of bed.

Last time I was sick like that was about 2 years ago with a virus. A side effect of it was that I lost my taste buds during it. I pretty much stood in bed the majority of the time and slept. When I was well enough I would get up to make soup, tea, and toast and that's all I ate for about 3 days.

When I'm sick like that I don't really try to do anything except try to sleep it off and clean myself up (shower) and eat when I feel well enough to do it.

Once when I was in agony from a kidney stone, I got up against the wall and stood on my head for five minutes. The pain went away but left me extremely
dizzy. I can usually get rid of a headache by drinking a can of Dr.Pepper that I had in the freezer for 10 minutes and resting in a recliner with my eyes shut
and listening to music at a low volume. If I am having pain from a toothace, I keep a swig of whiskey or Listerine in my mouth until It gets numb.

If I am sick I tend to just shut down and let everything that's not completely necessary just wait till I'm better.

I try to sleep A LOT, because rest is the best thing for just about every malady. I don't tax my brain either; either watch TV or do some mindless net surfing.

As far as food goes, I'm usually not that hungry if I'm sick but I load up on stuff like vitamin C drops, fruit juice and soup to keep me hydrated.

I don't get Dog-Sick (Very Sick)...

But if I do, I would just lie-down on the sofa and eat or drink foods that are good for the belly.

Hmm, I think the biggest thing for me is listening to inspirational music. Don't know where I would be without music, and quite frankly, I don't want to know either. lol

I don't often get sick but I do get a cold now and then. When I do I like to sip hot sweet tea then lie on the couch and watch tv all day. Hot tea soothes my throat and it seems to revive me a little.

The last time I got sick was in October and I had to call in sick to work for the first time in two years. I had a horrible chest cold and I ended up sleeping a lot of the day as well as watching a lot of TV.

I get a lot of head colds in the winter and frequent ear infections. What I usually do is sleep a lot, watch a lot of TV, stay covered up with blankets, take a hot shower or breathe in hot steam from a pan on the stove, take lots of cold pills, blow my nose constantly, drink lots of juice and water and eat soup until I am sick of it. I am so miserable when I'm sick. I even get really bad headaches and sore throats. Last winter I had a sinus infection, and two ear infections. I felt like crap. I hate winter!

When I get sick, I stay in bed. I always lose my appetite, so I drink Ensure, Vitamin water and things like that. My husband, he's not as good a nurse as I am when he's sick. He tries though.
