Peanuts, hot dogs, the seventh-inning stretch, cheering for the home team and heckling the opposition.

The picture is all too familiar. A day at the ballpark comprises all those things, and the only thing that makes it complete is participating in the wave. It usually takes a few times around for everyone to get involved, but a successful wave is an exhilarating feeling.

A baseball game without the wave is like a hockey game with no fights. It just isn't as exciting.

Well, the officials at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Tex., are trying to ban the wave, as reported by Yahoo! Sports' Out of Bounds.

On the scoreboard, they have posted a sign that says,

"Doing the wave will, yes, will cause tears to the suprarapinatus muscle and the infraspinatus muscle from the throwing of arms rapidly into the air. In addition, any children doing the wave will be sold to the circus."

Umm ... what?

While it was acknowledged that the warning may be a joke, many Rangers fans have complained that other game-goers doing the wave has been "ruining their ballpark experience."

The wave hasn't been banned just yet, but if you're going to the Rangers game anytime soon, you'd better get it in while it is still legal.

The wave should be banned, it is totally stupid. IMHO

The reason behind banning the wave is stupid, though, because a few people complained. It's a SPORTING EVENT, people!! Fans have been doing the wave at baseball, hockey, etc. games for eons. If there were people doing the wave at the symphony, that would be another story.

The wave never works anyways, but it's always fun to try. You can't ban something like the wave! Come on Rangers!

Give The Rangers back to The Bush Family...they won't ban the wave, they would veto that idea of having a "No Wave Policy"!

Wow, you'd think they'd be more concerned with trying to make the stadium safer than of taking away people's fun.
