in watching the update to the DJ hoax segment, we learn that there were numerous murders that were originally thought to be the one that was committed by the man who confessed. One case in particular had several similarities to what the man had desrcribed. That was the case of Angela Cummings, who appeared to have been murdered in her boyfriend's apartment. Her mother Lis, appeared on the program to talk about how despicable the dj's actions were, and how it left her devastated.
I thought this would have been a perfect opportunity to profile the Angela Cummings case. Instead, it is just barely touched upon and only how it relates to the dj hoax. I think they should have spent at least a couple minutes giving us the details of the case, so that it would have a better chance to be solved. It really bugs me that this didn't happen, and instead, the dj's get even more exposure, which is all the creeps wanted in the first place.

Yeah it seemed like an interesting case too. Judging from what was mentioned in the update, the Cummings case had to closely resemble the fabrications the DJs came up with so essentially you would have the same (or similar) circumstances as it pertains to the Cummings murder.
As an aside, I'm really not surprised that this hoax was perpetrated to begin with. As someone who listens to quite a bit of talk radio, I've come to believe that many associated with that industry lack any shred of common decency or scruples. All they really care about is ratings and making "a name" for themselves and they will go to extreme lengths to do so.

I'd have to say you're pretty close to the truth. Even when djs get fired for pulling stupid stunts like this one, there's a station somewhere looking to pick them up. Many moons ago, I was a dj. My main rule was never mess with someone's life for entertainment. As this segment painfully pointed out, it can devastate people beyond belief.

I don't believe I ever saw the update that mentioned Angela Cummings. I only saw a brief update in which Stack called the DJ's "liars". They seemed sincere in their interview on the segment, just another case of publicity seeking *********s.
