- Spike TV officials made it clear at a conference of marketing executives earlier this month that they will be re-branding the network and are looking to change their image from one that mainly targets males 18-34 to one that goes after both males and females 18-49.

Spike is expecting to lose UFC programming and it's being speculated that the new direction for Spike may hurt TNA and their Impact Wrestling show (http://realwrestlecrap.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tna&action=display&thread=376492&page=1), despite Impact doing well for Spike's demographic. Spike dropping TNA seems unlikely at this point because Impact Wrestling still doubles the network's average rating and is affordable. If TNA were dropped from Spike, it would hurt the company big time unless they could secure another national TV deal.

Spike made no mention of TNA at the conference while focusing on other shows. UFC was barely mentioned.

As I said in another Spike thread, give me "1000 Ways to Die" and I'm happy. :)

Impact Wrestling is one of Spike's highest rated shows despite itself. I doubt it's going anywhere, unless Bob or Janice Carter finally decide to cut their inept daughter loose.

From what I heard from Eric Bischoff and from what I read I dont think Impact will be affected. I dont think they can survive w/o tv. I dont watch UFC but if they lose UFC and Impact thats a dumb move, because despite how people feel about Impact Wrestling and UFC in general, it still garners good ratings for Spike TV.

I don't know if this has been already posted, buy UFC is angling to purchase the G4 channel.
