Exclusive: Joss Whedon Talks Buffy: Season 9, Angel and Faith

So Buffy: Season 8 has wrapped and now we're moving forward to Buffy: Season 9, can you talk about what's next for Buffy and the Scoobies?
It's kind of a return to the mission statement of the television show where her life is a little more monumental and tame, even though it's full of wild and weird adventures.
It's more reflective of what people are going through in their 20s, because ultimatelty the fans want something that they can relate to. Buffy is them and that's why that works.
We sort of brought the template down, she's more grounded and is still going to have insane things happening, but they're all metaphors for what we're all going through at that age.
Angel and Faith is over at Dark Horse as well, so we're going to be able to see those two worlds interact, can you talk a little about that?
We're starting the books off separately. They both sort of launch from the end of Buffy: Season 8, but the thing going on is that they're going to be able to establish their own identities.
Then we're going to start crossing-over and we can use anybody from either universe which is great fun.
I think that the most exciting thing is that we're bringing in new people and bringing back old villians, all of the relationships that we haven't gotten to see in a while. Buffy and Spike are going to be spending a lot of time together and that's just gold.
