Dear Mr. Iger,
I have a proposal for ABC Family: to make a deal with Buena Vista Television for ABC Family to have exclusivity in airing reruns of the hit 1991-1999 sitcom "Home Improvement," beginning in Fall 2012.
The series starred Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, the host of a local cable TV show based in Detroit, Michigan called Tool Time.
On Tool Time, Tim was reluctantly assisted by Al Borland (Richard Karn), a master plumber who knew a lot more about tools than Tim ever did.
On the show, Tim had a major knack for getting himself involved in every accident imaginable; at home, he was no different: he lived at 510 Glenview Road in Detroit, Michigan with his wife of 12 years, Jill (Pat Richardson), and their three rambunctious sons--10-year-old Brad (Zachery Bryan), 9-year-old Randy (Jonathan Thomas), and 6-year-old Mark (Taran Smith).
"Home Improvement" originated on the ABC Television Network from September 17, 1991 - May 25, 1999, where it lasted 8 years and 203 episodes. The series was produced by Wind Dancer Productions, Inc. in association with Walt Disney Television.
