I received a distressing e-mail from Cat today. Her older brother Kirk has died. He as 59. It was unexpected, and she's understandably upset. They were very close. The results of an autopsy are pending, however the doctors feel it was a blood clot somewhere, most likely the lungs; as he had shortness of breath.

Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

I'm going to tell Cat about this thread, so everyone can direct their comments directly to her. She's in total shock at this point. It was very sudden.

Rest in peace, James Kirk Hueston. Sorry for your loss,
Cathie(TripperFan). A blood clot on the Lungs is a hard
way to go. This makes me think of my own mortality.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and concern. Especially Janice for creating this thread. It's probably the only tribute to him. As per his wishes, I have donated his eyes and pray that two people will be helped by this senseless death. Since he was a cancer patient, they cannot harvest other organs unfortunately. I've also ordered an autopsy as there were "mysterious" situations leading up to his death. I'm not fully sure I now believe this blood clot thing. There may have been one, but I'm going to consult a medical lawyer as his symptoms point more towards radiation poisoning. I've never heard of anyone dying only two weeks into cancer treatment. After the autopsy, his body was donated for medical research.
This death has hit me the worst of all since he was the last of my close family. I do have another brother, but we've been on the outs with him for almost 10 years now. The only time I'll likely hear from him is when he'll come looking for money from the estate. There was no will either.
Also, Kirk had been missing for over 48 hours before he died. I had to file a missing persons report and only located him hours before he died. I never got a chance to speak with him or see him.
During the same period, I had to leave my home again, sleep in my car and then found friends to stay with. My last dog was put down while I was away without my knowledge. I had to give the kitten I just got back to the breeder "for safe keeping". The breeder then refused to give her back to me once things had calmed down a bit.
I'm just numb now. No feelings one way or another. I've lost everything one can lose, without it being their own life. I ask myself why have I been spared? Is this some cruel joke God is playing on me? This can't be that "testing" stuff people talk about. And if they say, "God doesn't give you anything you can't handle", well He's sure been pushing the envelope with me the past few years.

Please, if you know someone who is fighting cancer - please, PLEASE have them consider alternative treatments. More and more people I talk to - especially cancer patients and their families, believe that these "conventional" treatments are just a scam of big business and pharmaceutical companies, and we are nothing more than pawns in their game.

I know that if and when my brain cancer comes back, I will refuse any treatment containing radiation or chemotherapy. I fully believe these hideous treatments do way more damage than good. We need to start standing up for our rights more and pushing back.

Thanks again to all for their heartfelt words of kindness. They are a comfort to me.

I am so sorry to hear this news Cathie. Won't even pretend like I know how you're feeling. You have been through so much, and I will make it my number one goal to pray for you without ceasing, and asking God to please comfort you during this incredibly difficult time. You know I'm always going to be here for you Cathie, if you ever need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate. I love you my friend!
