This is the case about a teen beauty queen who went crazy after coming home from a party complaining that someone was trying to kill her. After a few months of repeated incidents of her flipping out, she left home with an acquaintance, got into an argument with him and he dropped her off. She was never seen again.

Was the acquaintance involved?
Did she run away?
Was she abducted/killed by a random killer?
-What are your thoughts?

I always have and continue to believe Tammy was a victim of foul play and is no longer with us. To many things simply don't add up about her running away. Not taking any clothes, apparently planning a three month trip to California, (though her just being sixteen can't imagine what her mom was thinking letting her be gone to a place alone that long by herself), and deciding simply to dissapear after having a fight with that guy.

And thats not so much because I thought she was above running away from everything I've read about the lifestyle she was into, but because after all these years there is not a reason in the world as the adult woman she would be now not to at least contact her family or someone and let them know she is alive, if for no other reason to tell them to stop looking for her.

And I've always believed its entirely possible the guy who picke her up is either involved or knows more than he is telling about her dissappearance.

I don't know a lot about this case other than what I saw on UM, but from what I saw on the show, she came off as either mentally ill with some sort of paranoid schizophrenia or on some serious drugs. It just seemed more like her mental state was off rather than someone actually trying to kill her. That being said, it's still possible that an unrelated incident led to her death, like the fight with the boyfriend or any sort of predator in the area.

SAw this segment today. It just seems like the guy she was with in the car knows something.. I just have a feeling. Also I believe this happened in Brevard County. There have been several serial killers in that area in the past. One I remember reading a book about and seeing on some of the old Court tv shows. Don't remember his name. He was from MI I think. He killed there, then moved to FL on the space coast, killed some more. He was eventually convicted of killing a flight attendant in her hotel room in MI after following her from the airport. I'm wondering if Tammy disappeared at the time he was active in the area?

There's not many missing persons cases where I suspect that the person is still alive. This is one where I figure she is dead and gone. I feel like UM left **** out of their broadcast but just being by yourself at that age far away I just feel she got picked up and murdered and dumped in the Pacific

Has there been any updates what so ever in this case? Hasn't it been almost 30 years? I would think some belonging of hers would be found or a hoax sighting at least?

Seems like she saw something that traumatized her and it really messed with her mental health. I think she was killed that same day she left her mothers house. It's sad her mother died without knowing what happen to her. I came across an article that said she invested so much money looking for Tammy, she didnt have enough money for her medical/funeral expenses. I'll look for the link & post it up later (since Im at work right now)

Its amazing someone on the verge of becoming famous could go missing with zero trace.

I've long believed that she had a mental breakdown, possibly schizophrenia or bipolar. Her actions very much fit this. She was at the age when this these are often diagnosed or symptoms start happening. I don't know what sort of docs she saw at the hospital, but if she wasn't cycling or having an active symptoms at that time it is very possible she easily slipped through the cracks somehow. I see people who exhibit actions very similar to hers on a day to day basis where I work. Of course this is all I have seen from a UM episode and in the posts from her sister...I'm not a doctor of course either. I don't believe she was truly in danger or saw something she shouldn't have, but I believe she was severely mentally ill and whatever happened on the movie set triggered her already chaotic brain chemistry. What happened to her after the friend dropped her off though....no explanation for that. She somehow just disappeared.

I agree, and I think in her altered state of mind, she may have come across the wrong person, maybe accepted a ride with them, and things went wrong from there.

I think Tammy developed a mental illness through some kind of traumatic event and/or the use of drugs. She developed some kind of schizophrenia or hallucinations and it made her a vulnerable person. When she had that argument with her friend who dropped her off, she accepted another ride from someone random whom she thought she could trust. It turned out to be a killer (probably a serial killer) and she was possibly raped then murdered and her body dumped. I think her body hasn't been found because she was dumped in the Everglades, not too far from where she was last seen and it seems like the perfect place to dump a body because the elements of nature could so easily degrade the remains.

Actually the Everglades are quite a distance from where she disappeared. A 6-8 hour ride. Tammy disappeared from the east coast of central Fl and the Everglades are in south FL.

But at the time she disappeared there was a lot of desolate, undeveloped land there. A body could've been easily hidden. Not to mention the location was right on the Atlantic Ocean and also easy assess to both the Banana and Indian Rivers and lots of marshland too.
