Exclusive: "Blue Bloods" Elects "Dexter" Alum as Its New Mayor

Blue Bloods police commissioner Frank Reagan will be reporting to someone new at City Hall in Season 2.

Former "Dexter" star David Ramsey has been tapped for the recurring role of newly elected Mayor Carter Poole, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.



Poole's political background includes his work as a community organizer, but he is also a liberal who is particularly soft on crime and that doesn't necessarily sit well with Frank (Tom Selleck).

However, a source tells us that despite getting off on the wrong foot, the two will ultimately be able to work together.



Ramsey will first appear during "Blue Blood's" Season 2 premiere.
The show returns Friday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on CBS.
