Now that title seems like it made more sense because most of the show took place in the Diner which is probably why the coworker only thought of the Diner instead of the Alice character

Very true, although, I think Ms. Lavin would have a problem with that. ;)

I know a LOT of people who call it Mel's Diner, I used to call it that myself a lot.
