View Full Version : Stars on multiple shows at the same time
robyrob 07-17-2011, 12:57 PM I remember when it was a big deal when Kelly Ripa was on "Hope & Faith" and "Live with Regis & Kelly" at the same time - name some stars that appeared on multiple shows simultaneously
- regular guest appearances on spin-offs count, single guest appearances do not.
I think the king of this is Bobby Flay; he is always on about 4 or more shows at once - in the past few months he has been on Iron Chef America, Brunch at Bobby's, The Next Food Network Star, Grill It with Bobby Flay, Throwdown, Barbecue Addiction, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, twice a month he hosts a cooking segment on CBS' The Early Show, and Flay hosted the reality television show America's Next Great Restaurant on NBC which just ended in May - now someone just needs to give him his own sitcom!
JamesG 07-17-2011, 04:22 PM For a short time Amanda Bynes did both "All That" and "The Amanda Show" on Nickelodeon.
She was on "All That" from 1996-2000 and "The Amanda Show" from 1999-2002.
biffbronson 07-17-2011, 05:05 PM Frank Cady worked as a regular on Petticoat Junction and Green Acres simultaneously as the same character. And, to a much lesser extent as far as the latter show, so did Edgar Buchanan.
Ted Danson has been a semi-regular on Curb Your Enthusiasm while also appearing in Becker, then Help Me Help You, then Damages, then Bored To Death and hopefully still while appearing in CSI.

While still on "Rugrats" she voice-acted in many other cartoons such as:
"Sonic the Hedgehog"
"The Critic"
"Aaahh!!! Real Monsters"
"Dexter's Laboratory"

Retro4Life 07-17-2011, 11:40 PM I'm pretty sure that Heather Locklear was on Dynasty and T.J. Hooker at the same time for a while.

JamesG 07-18-2011, 09:48 AM These are going on right now:
"The View" host Sherri Shepherd also hosts GSN's "The Newlywed Game".
"The View" host Joy Behar also has her own show "The Joy Behar Show".
Barbara Walters still goes back and forth between "The View" and "20/20" but not as often today as she did about 10 years ago.
TV_on_the_Porch 07-18-2011, 09:58 AM Robert Reed was simultaneously Mike Brady on The Brady Bunch and Lt. Tobias on Mannix.
Lee Majors' starring roles as Steve Austin in The Six Million Dollar Man and Jess Brandon in Owen Marshall: Counselor At Law briefly overlapped in 1974.
JamesG 07-18-2011, 10:00 AM Another current one:
Jerry Springer hosting "The Jerry Springer Show" and GSN's "Baggage".
JamesG 07-18-2011, 03:29 PM Going back to "Regis and Kelly" let's not forget that Regis Philbin also did double duty by being the host of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire".
Also to add that Meredith Vieira did double duty too by being a "View" co-host and hosting the syndicated daytime version of "Millionaire".
She only does "Millionaire" now since she left "The View" in 2006.
RockyF 07-18-2011, 04:20 PM Also to add that Meredith Vieira did double duty too by being a "View" co-host and hosting the syndicated daytime version of "Millionaire".
She only does "Millionaire" now since she left "The View" in 2006.
I'm sure this was just an oversight, but Vieira was also on The Today Show up until just a few weeks ago.
Timothy Omundson found time to play a bad guy in several episodes of Jericho (and a two-parter of Human Target) while also playing Lassiter on Psych.
Kurt Fuller has had recurring roles on both Psych and Supernatural at the same time, I'm not sure if those overlapped with his sitcom Better With You last season though.

Sharon Osbourne is a judge on "America's Got Talent" while being a co-host of "The Talk".

Joel McHale "Community" and "The Soup"
McGillicuddy 07-19-2011, 04:10 PM I'm pretty sure that Heather Locklear was on Dynasty and T.J. Hooker at the same time for a while.
Although TJ Hooker and Dynasty appeared on ABC simultaniously, Heather was a full-time castmember of TJ, while reoccuring on D, appearing in about 6 episodes a season. When Hooker ended its run, Locklear was full-time on Dynasty.
JamesG 07-21-2011, 08:16 AM Mila Kunis on "That '70s Show" and voice-acting on "Family Guy".
