View Full Version : FOL Moments That Made You Talk/Yell Back At The TV!
marymarat 01-08-2002, 02:45 PM Okay, you're watching FOL. What moments made you kinda lose it and shout it out at the TV? Mine...(in no particular order)
1. When Jo finds out Eddy is married and she confronts him. (I was like "Eddy! You're such a $%*@!"
2. When Tootie wanted to meet Jermaine jackson and threw that little hissy-fit. (I was like "Smack her Mrs.G!")
3. When Jo left david in the last Paris ep. (I was like "Girrrrrrll are you nuts?! Don't go!")
4. When Jo punched-out Blair in "Best Sister1/2". (I was just like "Whoooaaaa!")
5. When the girls started working in the dining room "New Girl 1/2" and some snooty girl was giving Jo a hard time about her mother being a waitress and Blair shoved some pie in her face. (I was like "Okay Jo, now deck her!")
I'm sure I have a million more but my mind is blank now..How about yours! :-)
FolFanatic151 01-08-2002, 08:15 PM Hey, good topic! I know I've talked to my friends, uh, the FOL girls, many times, but I can't think of them right now. :D I'll get back to you on that.
FolFanatic151 01-08-2002, 08:17 PM Oh! I just thought of one! Does singing count? I sing with the girls when they sing in "Cruisin'", and I also sing the theme song every time I hear it. :D
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 01-08-2002, 08:53 PM uh......There was once when I just was like totally in shock just like going..UH...OH.....AH..AGH! It was when Mrs. G yelled at Mr.Parker when she was like.."I....you.....AND ANOTHER THING.... AND YOU CAN JUST JUST.......KISS OFF!!" I was so shocked Mrs.G said that!
I agree though, in Starstruck.....I did want Mrs. G to slap her "like in the movies" as Tootie herself would say.then I was like......I WOULD DO THAT!!LOl so then I was like....OH SHOOT! I better see waht Mrs.G does..then at the end of the episode..oh I won't go there...it's weird.

I threw my glass at the TV..lol
Warm & Fuzzy 01-08-2002, 09:40 PM Hmm....In Seven Little Indians when the girls were getting "attacked" LOL!

Nothing in particular comes to mind. But everytime Blair said a smart a$$ comment or did something childish to make Jo angry, I thought it would have been hilarious (especially in the older eppies) to have Jo totally lose it and smack her rear a few times. Why not? Don't get me wrong, I loved Blairs character but you have to admit that she did act pretty childish at times and pushed Jo's buttons a little too much. I would have rolled on the floor if it happened!
ABlairican Pie 01-08-2002, 10:18 PM I was angry when I watched the "Americanization of Miko" episode and Jo was telling Mrs. G that the Stray Cats were a really "hot new wave group"--and Mrs. G said, "why does their lead singer have green hair?" I yelled, the Stray Cats were NOT
a "new wave" band, they were ROCKABILLY--bringing back the early rock 'n' roll sounds of the '50s (i.e., NOT one of those skinny-tie bands with the synthesizers, etc., in the early '80s) and also--
Brian Setzer (lead howler and guitar player, for those of you who have their albums) did NOT have green hair!! (He DID look almost as if he was moussed to death--but they were not a dayglo punk band!!)
JoPol_wannabe 01-08-2002, 10:53 PM The shoplifting ep when the girls give Mrs. G that Hawaiian shirt and she tells them she loves it then right after they leave Blair tells Mrs. G she should return I was like that's mean & rude the girls took time and well no money to get her that shirt even though she should take it back.
Also in the ep where Jo is working at that bike shop and she is dating a guy that works there and then she starts acting helpless I was like Jo come on this isn't like you, you would never stoop this low even for a guy.
Int he Ep less then perfect I thought it was stupied Blair wanted to dump Casey just because she had a scar on her face i was like what the heck how stupied can you be scars eventually go away.
There were alot of times actually, but these are the ones that come to mind right now:
When Roy kissed Jo I yelled in agony...I felt as if I needed to wash my mouth out with soap...ick!
In "New Girl" when Jo entered I found myself jumping up and down on the bed...
In...I always forget the name of this ep..."Down and Out in Malibu" or something like that...when Jo left to take that job out in California...I didn't believe she would go. She went back and hugged them and then she got to the door and said bye and actually walked out! AHHHH....I flung my pillow at the TV set. I was so upset! That episode really got to me...
In "Shoplifting" when they walk out of the store with that blouse I help my breath until they got out and then I found myself lecturing them mentall for doing such a thing...
There are SO many incidents. I gotta go to bed now, but I'll post more later. Talk to you all later!

LOL ya I gotta agree with marymarat on this one. It's not because Tootie annoyed me, it was because she was acting..well...stupid. *shrugs*
Blair-Lisa#1Fan 01-09-2002, 11:28 PM I know I've talked or yelled at the tv in every ep of FOL! I can't keep my mouth shut...ever! i'll think of some that i yelled in most.

Sure singing counts! Whenever you have almost mentally morphed yourself into an FOL ep! (Hey, during the theme song when they say "the facts of life are all about you" I sing "the facts of life are all about ME" everytime!) Only when I'm actually watching it though, not in the library or something!

I was born in the 80's my earliest memory is that Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" video. They were into the synthesizer-wierd-hair thing. (and just for the record A-Ha's "Take On Me" video is the coolest!)

-Yeah, returning a gift within 15 minutes of gettin' it is totally rude. Every gal knows the rule; SOMEONE BUYS YOU AN UGLY ARTICLE OF CLOTHING-YOU WEAR IT ONCE IN FRONT OF THEM-AND THEN THROW IT IN THE BACK OF YOUR CLOSET!
-Yeah, Jo and the word helpless do not go together. Show that geek how to fix a Porsche right!
ABlairican Pie 01-10-2002, 10:15 PM To marymarat,
Didn't want to confuse you about what I said in regards to '80s
new wave bands--I LOVE 'EM TOO!!:D In fact, we have a program here where I live on Sunday mornings, they play all '80s new wave bands for 4 hours, a show called Resurrection Flashback Sunday!! I just wanted to point out that the Stray Cats were not
a "new wave" band in the sense of the Cars, the B-52s, A Flock of Seagulls, Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins, the Go-Gos, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Smiths, Love and Rockets, etc., they were, for back then, considered "retro." I GREW UP ON NEW WAVE--AND IT'S STILL GREAT!!!! THE 80'S HAVE RETURNED!!!!
Oh I LOVE 80's music! Especially because I was a teen then. So many tunes bring so many memories flooding back. Especially anything by Van Halen. I'm talkin David Lee Roth VH. Oh baby, I had plans for he and I. Almost met him too after a concert but my friends weren't old enough to get in. Boo hoo! :crying:
If DLR ever reunites with VH, I AM THERE!!!!!!!!!! (even though he doesn't quite do it for me anymore.....hehehhe! VH is nothing with out him)

Great! Heh. When I sing the theme song, I either sing really loud and stand on the table in my family room, or I sit, all curled up, on the couch and almost whisper it in quiet awe (I want to still be able to hear the actual song). LOL I sound really weird, huh? Sometimes I wave at the girls during the opening credits or as they go by on my FOL screensaver. Ok, so I'm probably scaring all of you. I'll shut up. :D

Take it easy, Tootiefan4life :-) I said what MOMENTS. Tootie had a MOMENT in which she was freaking out totally! She deserved one of those calm-down-your-hysterical slaps. I didn't mean one of those Heather-Locklear-Melrose-Place-B*tch-Slaps! :-)
ABlairican Pie 01-11-2002, 08:47 PM Eva, I actually got to see VAN HALEN--WITH DIAMOND DAVE--open
up for Black Sabbath in 1978!! MAN, THEY WERE GREAT!! That first album was KILLER!!!! "Running With the Devil", "Eruption/You Really Got Me", "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love",
"I'm the One"--Van Halen's set was AMAZING!!!! Eddie Van Halen
was the COOLEST guitarist on the planet at that time--they mopped the floor with Black Sabbath!! No wonder Ozzy left! (He was fired) But Sammy Hagar was okay--he just didn't have Dave's FIRE!!

Cheers! (I don't mean to bum everybody out with that word...I'm kinda ticked too that N@N has it on a jillion times a night, when they could at least slip in an FOL ep in there somewhere!)
While we've got the subject of awesome 80's music, I wanna give a well deserved shout-out to TEARS FOR FEARS and THE MOTELS! ('Only The Lonely' rulz!)

How COOL Tad! I saw VH with Dave twice and the first time I remember screaming and crying so hard when he came out that my knees buckled and I fell to the floor. I think Eddie is the best guitarist BY FAR....EVER! Once in a while, when my kids and my hubby are asleep I pop in some of my VH tapes, plug in my headphones and relive those times. Very loud too. One of my fave albums is "Women and Children first". Some cool tunes on that one. OK OK I will stop, I know this is WAY off topic........

I wonder if we are long lost sisters or something? I mean, we both used to like the Shady Bunch. Our families are such good friends. Well, as Lisa would say, "It's a Real Possibility"

JDS84 01-12-2002, 09:43 PM When Jo punches Blair in Best Sister episode
When Jo actually takes the job and then she comes in and hugs them in down and out of Malibu. It still gets to me everytime I watch that episode.:crying:
