I'm very happy for the Barney Miller fans.

Now if only Mr. Belvedere, that other long-running show that the team of Frank Dungan, Jeff Stein, and Tony Sheehan were best known for would follow suit.

This is the way ALL classic sitcoms should be treated! Wow! The complete series--the original pilot--commentaries--the spin-off, Fish! Amazing how Shout! Factory has kept this under wraps! This is something you'd expect from Time-Life.

Precisely, markway895! I've never seen Barney Miller (although I want to, especially given that the creator of Night Court was a writer on BM), but I am so happy for fans of BM right now! =)

All 8 seasons, a 32-page booklet, commentaries, new interviews, the original unaired pilot AND the first season of Fish?? :eek2: I send lots of :bighug:s and :kiss:es to the good folks at Shout!, who have really pulled out all the stops. Talk about bells and whistles!!!! :D

By the way, I LOVE the box art, made up to look like the door of the 1-2. WAY COOL!!!

This is for the good folks at Shout!:

I don't see why they wouldn't - I'm sure you could get it from Amazon's Canada website. :D

:faint: I'm so excited! I thought it would be a miracle to even get season four out. Thank god Shout bought the rights, and are putting in *gasp* bonus features. props: I can't wait, the original pilot, I thought that was long gone. Memo to Sony: THIS is how it's done. I just hope they were able to get commentary from Steve Landesberg before he died. :(
party: :yippee: :clap   < Monika and me.

I'm hoping this is the wave of the future. Classic shows sold as a box set, then later released as individual seasons. This way everyone should be content. Now we don't have to wait and wonder if the last few seasons of this series will ever get released. We will however be wondering about season 2 of Fish, though.

Awesome!!!! :D I knew that there was a good chance that the price would drop lower.

I hope they release the other seasons individually like they did for Beaver. Having Fish though is tempting, I doubt they would release that by itself. I wonder why they are only including the first season though, there was only two I believe.

Yeah, that's only fair to those that have the first 3 seasons and can't justify buying the complete series. Also, then no one can claim "double-dipping"!

I'm confused myself why they aren't releasing the entire Fish series - I think it was only 35 episodes.

It is almost like a tease not to include all of them-lol

I'm hesitant to complain about season 2 of Fish not being included. I think that having the first season included is incredible, and likely the only chance we'd see any of the short-lived series at all! Maybe season 2 will get a separate release later.

Yeah, maybe they will make it a Shout Select title or something.

AWESOME! Can not WAIT!!!

The only thing I am unhappy about is how long it took. Why couldn't this have happened just a few years earlier before we lost Ron Carey and Steve Landesburg? :(

Well, they do have a 2009 interview featuring Steve Landesberg. He looked so good there - it's just so hard to fathom that just a year later he'd die of cancer. :(

There's also a trailer for "You Don't Know Jack", the documentary about Jack Soo. I want to see more!!

And of course there's Jack Soo: A Retrospective, which aired May 17, 1979, season 5's last episode.
