View Full Version : The Blog Story about Me-TV regarding Philly needs to be edited
TVFactFan 07-05-2011, 07:54 PM It's not 100% accurate after talking to several people today who have antennas including a radio shack rep who stated that 69.3 can not be picked up with no HDTV Antenna since it's broadcast from Allentown. I talked to 10 people and every single person stated they don't have 69.3 as an over the air channel. These are the over the air channels available in Philadelphia
3.1-CBS
6.1-ABC
10.1-NBC
10.2-NBC
10.3-NBC
12.1-PBS
17.1-WPHL
17.2-Atennna TV
17.3-ThisTV
17.4-Tango
23.1-PBS
29.1-Fox
35.1-PBS
48.1-TBN
57.1-CW
61.1-ION
The guy at Radio Shack stated that even if I purchased the $65 antenna it would not pick up 69.3 as an over the air digital channel. And my coworkers who have an antenna stated they do not get WMFZ including the poster in the me-tv thread by the name of "GO28" who lives in Philadelphia and stated he has a antenna and digita box and does not get Me-tv on 69.3. So the blog needs to be revised because it's not 100% accurate. I just don't want anyone else from philly reading that blog and getting their hopes up only to find out 69.3 is not available in Philadelphia.
Pavan 07-06-2011, 10:14 PM The station is listed as a Philly/Allentown station. Even MeTV lists it that way. The station is on the air. End of story.

If the station is based in Allentown, and you already knew that, you should know not everyone in the Philly area will be able to pick it-up. We are reporting how the channel is reported in coverage, and they clearly state they are an "Allentown/Philadelphia" station. I'm sure there are people who can pick the channel up in the surrounding Philadelphia area.
For example, RTV is available in the NYC market on a station outside of NYC, but the station still lists themselves as NYC. I am in the NYC market and since officially they list themselves as NYC, that's how it is reported. I can't pick-up that station in my house, but it officially it still is a NYC station. Just because I don't get it, doesn't make me want to retract any information.

I dont think the blog says everybody has it. Its clearly available just because you dont get it doesnt mean that its not availble. No reason to take out our frustrations on the blog. lol
I'm not the only one upset.... As you can see from the beginning of this post... I really was looking forward to that station... I'm just disappointed. I can't get channel 69 at all....:-(

Its frustrating I feel you, when Antennatv came to the Los Angeles market I couldnt get the signal for a couple weeks I spent so much time trying to get it working it drove me nuts, I still cant get RTV and I am less then 30 miles from the tower. hopefully you get it soon
Hopefully...I just have to wait and see, unless Comcast picks it up to it's line up...

I'd call Comcast and let them know that you'd like them to pick it up. It couldn't hurt.

Are you in the Philly area too?
ReallyRetroChick 07-10-2011, 07:50 PM Yes and I'm also an overpaying Comcast customer.

Comcast has gotten better in the past 2 years but yes I agree they are HIGH. And I'm stuck with them because it's no other cable company in my area
ReallyRetroChick 07-12-2011, 01:29 PM You're right about Comcast getting better. I really can't complain about their service, etc. And there are a ton of channels. We just need to call and request MeTV. I tried sending an email. Do we need to contact our local Comcast and make the request? I picture myself getting someone on the phone who could care less. Has anyone ever called their local cable company to request a channel and gotten positive results?
CaliforniaKid 07-12-2011, 02:11 PM I have tried a couple different times and never had any luck.

The idiots on the phone have no information about new channels
