ive never seen pert kelton as alice but and i know i could get run out of here for this but i liked sheila mcrae as alice

The general consensus seems to be that Audrey was the best Alice, but Pert was the first, nobody can take that away from her. As far as anybody actually preferring Pert over Audrey, I don't think enough people, especially these days, have been exposed to enough of Pert's Alice to like her more. You'll probably find more people like "70s show watcher" that prefer Sheila MacRae, since people that grew up during the late 60s/early 70s were likely introduced to her Alice first.
