When you were growing up, watching "Kotter" reruns or original airings, did it make going to school look fun for you? Did it actually make you want to go to high school?

The years that Welcome Back Kotter was on, 1975 to 79, were the exact same years I attended high school. None of the kids in my school acted like those Sweathogs, but one guy liked to imitate Vinnie Barbarino, another guy imitated Freddie Washington, and another guy imitated Arnold Horshack. I don't recall that anyone imitated Juan Epstein. Did Welcome Back Kotter make high school look fun? Absolutely yes it did, at least until the last season when some episodes had serious overtones. High school for the most part is supposed to be fun anyway, it's the last chance for kids to be kids until the cold realities of life take over.

I was in Jr. High when the show originally aired and it didn't make me want to go to High School.
