I had a dream where I was a man dressed up like a woman. I knew that I was really a man, but kept denying it to my coworker James and (male) suitor, even though they slightly implied that they knew that I wasn't really a woman.

My suitor said something along the lines of,"You know what, I'll take you to dinner anyway." I continued the denial to him. James said, "That was really nice of him to offer to take you to dinner, knowing your
secret." I continued denying being a man.

Just before my dinner date with my suitor, I finally decided to open up to James. I said, "I'm really a man, dressed as a woman." He replied, "I know." I said, "Please don't tell anyone." He replied,, "I won't."

We ended up in an Entertainment store, and I picked up The Wayans Brothers Show DVD. A selling point on the DVD was, "TWBS is one of the funniest television shows ever!"(true) The box said that the DVD was the 7th season, copyright 2006.

I knew that was wrong, because TWBS was started in 1995 and ended in 1999, so they sure as hell didn't have 7 Seasons. They had about 4 seasons. And, the cover of the dream cover only had Shawn on it, not Marlon, unlike a real-life WB DVD would have.

I woke up shortly after my suitor and I were in an elevator on our way to the date.

Can anyone interpret this dream for me?

Its been a while since I have interpreted a dream, but I'll give it a shot.

The fact that you are a woman dreaming that you were a man I'm pretty sure means that you have just learned of or noticed or even just developed some sort of masculine trait. But the fact that you are a transvestite means that you are hiding something, not necessarily the trait, or have a huge secret that you have been trying to keep.

You told James your secret, but not the man who asked you out. This mostly likely means that you trust James, but you were also worried about what the suitor thought. Have you been self consious about something lately? Now more than you have been?

I don't know if the actual show has much to do with the dream, but the fact that the details stood out to you on the cover does. You knew that there were errors on the DVD and that it couldn't be right, but you still bought it anyways. When you go along with something that you know cannot be true or right in a dream, it usually means that there is a situation or a person in your life that you are unsure about. Deep down you know that something isn't right, but you either feel it is out of your control or choose not to do anything about it.

That's all I've got. I hope it helps. If none of this actually applies to you, than just completely ignore it. Like I had said, its been a while since I have gotten into dream interpretation. It also all depends on whose theory you believe. Freud states that dreams are our way of fulfilling wishes that are socially unacceptable and since the images would be too disturbing or distressing for us to handle, the mind filters them and uses symbolism while Domhoff believes that the dreams focus entirely on the person's life while they are awake meaning that are dreams have a more literal meaning.
