The character was Luke Comstock. I always remember Gordon best for his bad-guy role in the John Wayne classic, "McClintock!". He sure exuded menace in his roles!

Probably the Parker family.:lol: If Andy hadn't come for a visit, Agnes Jean could have kept old Barn bamboozled for years so he would unknowingly help the family's store robbing crime spree.

The one that said, "I'll get you for this!" while staring at Barney after Barney tried to give him a ticket for littering........ and the guy in the later episode when Barney came to visit and Andy knocked the crook out to save Barney's butt, and Barney gave Warren credit.

The fat moonshiner who wouldn't take his tetanus shot and also had a great singing voice was the only person I remember actually fring a gun at Andy and Barney (he did it in two episodes).

Ernest T. Bass was an insane meth head throwing bricks and causing mayhem. Just because he was funny doesn't mean he wasn't dangerous. The other hill people could be dangerous also (whch was somewhat realistic).

It was Luke Comstock in the episode Hign Noon in Mayberry. He was a scary looking dude for sure. I don't understand why he hobbled down to Andy's house at night with his "game" leg when he could have visited Andy at the courthouse. I assume he was staying at the Mayberry Hotel which was just a short walk from the courthouse. And bringing Andy a shotgun as a gift? I dunno about that.

"Gentleman" Dan Caldwell, took dead aim at Andy Taylor with Barney's loaded revolver, his intent was to shoot Andy if he interfered with his escape. The only reason Andy wasn't killed in front of his son and aunt and dangerously incompetent deputy is because Caldwell tested the gun by firing to the ceiling and gave up before hitting the live chamber.

Seems like Luke wanted to give Andy just a touch of paranoia by those actions.
