Not sure how he died or how was it explained???

It was on TMTMS. Phyllis and Bess moved to San Francisco (and the spinoff) shortly thereafter.

The death supposedly happened when Bess and Phyllis were still in MN. But we never saw it on TMTMS, and I don't even think it was ever mentioned until "The Last Show," when both Phyllis and Rhoda came back. I remember when Nick @ Night first started to run Phyllis, I was so excited thinking I would finally see Lars. Imagine my disappointment when they said he was dead in the first episode! :lol:

In the pilot of Phyllis there is a pre titles scene of a grieving Phyllis,in
