Did Mary actually dislike Ted Baxter? Somebody wrote an article that felt like Mary just put up with Ted, but never really liked him...

I think with Ted, like with just about everyone Mary met, she was able to see some good in him, but as far as preferring his company, no, I think she probably went out of her way to avoid him and realized he was an egomaniac, among other things.

She definitely wasn't as close to Ted as she was to Lou and Murray. But Mary definitely did like Ted's girlfriend/later wife, Georgette - who helped somewhat fill the void Rhoda's departure left. But yes, Mary knew better than anyone that Ted was a huge egomaniac!!!!
