In the above artcle dated April 29th, 1971, ABC executives asked viewers what they thought about The Odd Couple's format. In response, 83% of the viewers said they hated it. So the following season, ABC changed to a 3 camera format with a live studio audience....Who Knew?

Very true and in my humble opinion, it made the show 100% better!

yea, I remember when they did that, but I didn't know that that was why they changed.

The first season shows have a "charm' in that it has a distinct look from the rest of the seasons, but, yeah, the live audience/camera change looked better.
