OH Nuts! 06-21-2011, 04:07 PM May he RIP, he was a fine actor who brought much joy to many. I miss him.
Mr. Television 06-21-2011, 05:55 PM I still remember how sad he looked when his son killed himself. I think a part of him died right then. I had a feeling that he wasn't going to last that many years after. :(

Yeah, his eyes changed. They took on a very haunted look; it was really hard to see him transform this way. But I understand why the change occurred, certainly.
:rip: Carroll ("Archie"). You were a helluva actor and you sure did make me laugh, and think and feel. A lot.
80sTrivia 06-21-2011, 06:20 PM Hard to believe he has been gone for ten years... :(

Schmoopie 06-22-2011, 02:00 AM It's hard to believe that it's been ten years since he died. I remember watching the Larry King Live show where they interviewed the remaining cast members. He was so wonderful! He was in one of my all time favorite movies, "Return To Me" staring David Duchovney and Minnie Driver. Definitely worth watching just for his performance! Very un-Archie Bunker-like!
Mr. Television 06-22-2011, 06:39 AM One of his performances I always liked was in the Clint Eastwood movie Kelly's Heroes. He did that right before AITF. He was so funny in that movie.
Rest in peace. He was such a wonderful actor.

Hughsgirl 06-22-2011, 09:59 PM I'll never forget when I found out about his death. It was the day after my second wedding Anniversary and we had just returned from Jamestown, NY to visit the Lucy-Desi Museum. We had settled into watch AITF when we saw it was a marathon on TV Land and they had said he had died. Obviously the marathon was in his honor. We were so devasated. RIP Mr. O'Connor.

comedyfreak 06-23-2011, 05:51 AM I remember seeing him in a movie in the early 70's where he played a cop Law And Disorder, it was either just before or after AITF started. I also seen him in a b&w movie where he played a president, it was shown in school. My favorite role was seeing him as Archie Bunker. RIP Carroll.
704Hauser 07-02-2011, 11:05 PM I was only 10 when O'Connor died, and had no idea who he was or what AITF was (I didn't start watching AITF until I was 17).
Still, it's still sad that it's been 10 years since he died :(, he was so great on AITF.
