Okay, where have I been living, under a rock? I thought I was up-to-date with major breakthroughs in science. I found this out from a reality show. This rich basketball player and his fiance want twin boys, and the fertility doctor explained to them that during the In-Vitro process, that only embryos with male chromosomes would be used.
Aside from just wanting to plan a certain family, there are certain gender-related diseases. I heard male autism is one, something else I didn't know. Insurance covers this, only in certain instances. If anyone's interested.

I didn't know that doctors had the ability or were perhaps allowed to select the gender of a baby for a couple.

I agree! Scientists should concentrate on more important things like finding the cure for cancer!!

Every time I hear the song 'IN THE YEAR 2525' I think how much of the songs lyrics are coming true. You can pick your daughters too from a long ? tube. So much technology is wonderful. I would hate to go back to washing my clothes by hand with 1910 or earlier equipment.

The day I get married, I'm going somewhere that I can have the doctors make a way that I can have a son.

I don't think that's right. I feel that if you're supposed to have a son you'll have a son or if a daughter, you'll have a daughter. I know my dad is hard on me and my sister about school grades and such, but he has admitted to me that it is a good thing that he didn't have a son because he would have been ten times harder on him. And then there's my Aunt who has always been a tomboy, she said she would have never have known how to raise a daughter right, she now has three sons. I truly deep down believe that everything happens for a reason and I do not believe that it is right to mess with that.
