Would a new Happy Days work today. By that a mean,Happy Days came on the air in the 70s and was set 20yrs before. I guess that 70s shows was kinda like it but being set in the 70s, i couldn't get into that 70s show,and i love a lot of stuff about the 70s. And shows dealing with such eras. I tried and tried but couldn't get into that show

But what about a more Happy Days like show on the air today based on the 80s.again set 20yrs prior to now. Would it work good if they sorta followed how happy Days was set. Local hang out,a cool guy. Middle class family,Kids in school etc

I can see myself buying into it.being born in 1969 the eighties were my teen years. If done right and stuck to what it was really like in the 80s, i would like that cause its the era i grew up in. I just wanted to see what others thought.

I think so if they made it more family friendly, because otherwise they might be trying too hard.

The 80s are similar to the 50s in the sense of the colorful fashion, the cool guy in the leather jacket, etc.

Also it had a re-emergence of rockabilly which at some points could actually make the show Happy Days-ish such as the main characters going to a Stray Cats concert and maybe even dressing like them.

well now that you've said this maybe something like that could work i grew up in the 80s and 90s.it might be interesting to have a show in the same fashion as happy days.the stories could be a little more realistic.Wouldn't be jumping garbage cans or sharks.could work.

I think it could work if well written. I liked Friday Night Lights with had a similar theme.

My mom and dad loved Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days because they grew up in that decade and it reminded them of their youth. Likewise, I grew up in the 80's and would enjoy a show like that for the same reason. However, I doubt Hollywood would buy it.

A sitcom set in the 90's might get better ratings. Most networks are trying appeal to the 18-34 demographic and the majority of that age group grew up in the 90's. (A 30 year old was 15 in 1996). Also, there seems to be an interest right now in 90's nostalgia with TeenNick bringing back 90's Nickelodeon programming. I myself am 24 and would really enjoy a show set in the 90's.

Wasn't the short lived "That 80s Show" based on a similar idea?
