Scene, Skateboard and Emo has been over for a while. It's all about Hipsters now, grab some flannel, horn rimmed glasses and a copy of Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane over the Sea (preferably on vinyl).

I have a friend who dressed like she was for a while, but didn't act it. She's too sweet and innocent to actually pull off the supposed attitude, but she had the look down.

The sterotypical one is hugely into music, very egotistical, kind of a b***h I guess. Wears extremely tight clothing, most likely two or three sizes too small. Teases their hair which is usually dyed black and then bleached in random spots with different colors like red or green or whatever and the bangs are usually down and covering the face. Every t-shirt they wear is a band shirt.
