In the wake of the firing of a number of the show’s stars, a popular soap opera now faces changes behind the camera, reports TV Guide Canada.

Following the firing of actors Louise Sorel, Crystal Chappell, Nadia Bjorlin, Bren Foster and Emmy-winner Tamara Braun, "Days of Our Lives" co-executive producer Gary Tomlin is on his way out, the story reports.

According to columnist Nelson Branco, Tomlin's exit is imminent, in part because he has objected to the direction of the NBC soap opera in letting go so much front-line talent.

An insider told Branco, "Gary did not agree with the firings. He was very upset about having to let Nadia, Crystal, and Louise go. He doesn’t understand what’s happening.”

Prior to his stint on "Days of Our Lives," Tomlin was with "All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "Sunset Beach."
