ALTER, Paul Born 1922. 50 years in Television as Producer Director/Writer of over 60 game shows including "I've Got a Secret", "To Tell the Truth", "What's My Line", "Password", "Family Feud" and "The Price is Right", "Man Against Crime", "Playhouse 90", "Perry Como Show", Member of ASCAP, DGA. He was adored passionately by his wife Lorraine, children Amy, Wendy, and Julie; grandchildren, Phoebe, and Michael, Christopher and Beth, and beloved family, Barbara, Andrew, Cara, David, Spencer and Alec, great-grandchildren, Zoey, Marley, and Sydney Rose. He was a veteran game show director, directing many of the Goodson-Todman shows, including Family Feud and Tattletales. My condolences go out to the family and friends of Paul Alter on his passing.

:rip: Paul Alter worked on both the 1950's and 1970's TPIR. It was a shame how Bob Barker fired him on the fact that he testified on Holly Hallstrom's behalf (same reason why Janice Pennington & Kathleen Bradley were fired - for telling the truth).

I never believed he fired those people and it was actually the work of someone or some group of people involved in the company that owned the show.

Paul directed many G-T shows in New York, including Beat the Clock, TTTT and IGAS before moving to California. Out there, he directed Tattletales, Family Feud, The Price is Right, To Tell The Truth, and Body Language, among others. Another member of the G-T family has left us. R.I.P. Mr Alter (salute).
