After keeping a relatively low profile since the CBS upfront where the network announced Ashton Kutcher as his replacement on Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen is back in the limelight. I hear the troubled actor has been pitched to some networks and studios for a new comedy series. It is unclear if there is a specific premise or the pitch is only for Sheen's acting services. According to TMZ, Sheen's camp is in "deep negotiations" with a broadcast network for a new sitcom that would go straight-to-series. CBS is out of the picture and sources indicating that ABC and NBC are not happening either. That leaves Fox, where the actor took an exploratory meeting in March, as the only broadcast possibility, though the network loaded up on comedies for next season with 3 new half-hour series ordered and 2 more pilots, Family Album and Little in Common, in serious contention for midseason. Present at the March meeting were Fox Sports president David Hill as well as Fox entertainment chairman Peter Rice and alternative president Mike Darnell. At the time, there was a lot of speculation about a Sheen show at Fox or a sibling cable network, but nothing materialized. Also never happened - Sheen's Corner, the comedy series Sheen was "going to do" on HBO. Or his proposed show on HDNet. Industry insiders are skeptical that a major network or studio would jump in to sign Sheen for a regular series gig. "He is uninsurable," one top studio executive said. A guest spot on a comedy series is a different story. That could be a ratings gold.

"Uninsurable".
If Charlie can't be protected under a standard insurance policy (guaranteeing the actor/actress is of sound mind- and in perfect physical health), what studio or network is going to hire him? Obviously, no insurance firm is going to issue HIM a policy for appearing on a scripted TV series after the way he's disrupted "TWO AND A HALF MEN" this season.....

FOX is the hippest of the networks, but they will cancel your show quick if it doesn't pull in the ratings, and this network cancels the fastest of all of them (some of them like "Back to You" were good shows).
Why doesn't Charlie just relax? The man has so much money.

That's the word that ended William Frawley's career. Due to his deteriorating health he could no longer be insured and was therefore released from "My Three Sons". Less than a year later he died of a heart attack.

The same has been said about Robert Downey Jr. a few years ago! Granted, Charlie will not be nominated for any Oscars like Robert, but Hollywood loves a comeback, so I'm not counting Charlie out just yet!

problem with that is that it takes time for Hollywood and the general public to forget about the bad things that you do - Charlie needs to just shut up and go away for awhile if he wants to make a comeback.
