Gavin Macleod - Honorary Mayor Gavin MacLeod ('The Love Boat,' 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show') will be saying farewell as honorary mayor, after five unprecedented years as captain of the USS Pacific Palisades.

  Outgoing Chamber President John Petrick notes 'No honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades has ever served five years. Mayors Ted Knight, John Raitt and Steve Guttenberg each served four years, but Gavin MacLeod made Palisades history!'

  The town's 27th honorary mayor will be Sugar Ray Leonard, the retired boxing great who lives with his family in the upper Riviera neighborhood. Winner of world titles in five weight divisions between 1979 and 1989, Leonard is now actively involved in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
