I watched this segment yesterday, and I must admit that every time I watch it, I cannot help but be struck by how deeply Roxanne's disappearance affected her family. According to her grandmother they were very close.
Stack's delivery of the narrative is very haunting as he talks about how Shepherd led the police to where Cathy Clowers was found.
After watching all of that, I feel elated to hear the words, "UPDATE! LONDON ONTARIO, CANADA!"
It is scary to know how easy it seems somebody like Shepherd could blend into society and not draw attention to himself.

Not sure if you ever heard the news, but Joe Shepherd died of natural causes in prison last year. Thankfully, he will never hurt anyone ever again.

Shepherd always maintained he was innocent of these offenses.

It is amazing that some people cannot admit to the truth, perhaps having deluded themselves to the point that they believe their own lies. Joe Shepherd did actually admit to killing them, at least in the case of Cathy Clowers. And the fact that he buried Roxanne Woodson on his parent's property is in my mind almost akin to saying, "I killed her!"
I would hate to have to carry the kind of burden on my soul that Joe Shepherd must have carried, after having done what he did and still not fully admitting his guilt.

I read an article about it. I think Shepherd tried to say some local boys killed Clowers and he knew where they buried her - not that he committed the murder himself. I believe he also claimed these same boys tried to frame him for Roxanne's death.

A load of BS in any case.

Cathy Clowers looked like she was going to be a very beautiful lady one day

Those two murders happened in separate counties (Monroe and McMinn), but each of them were right next to the one I grew up (Loudon). I actually knew a Clowers in school, but I'm not sure if that person was related to Cathy Clowers' family.
