So if they decide to bring back the show with new episodes, can somebody please, please, please start a serious petition to let the production company know that they ought to use the original soundtrack, including the original theme song? The show lost quite a bit of its edge after it dumped much of the original soundtrack in the move from NBC to CBS...

A lot of work has to be done for the show to resemble it's predecessor. A more authoritative host who should be on the set of the crime (s), original theme music.
We don't know where they stand on any of this at the moment.
I would strongly suggest writing to the production company. Our chances of having an impact on the matter would be better if their office is inundated with physical letters. Although we shouldn't expect them to accommodate every suggestion we give them (which is easier said than done anyway), the least we can hope for is receptiveness on their part.

Yes, please! I'd be hard pressed to ever think a piece of music that sent chills down your spine like the old-school UM soundtrack. I've watched quite a few episodes of "Disappeared" lately and kept thinking about much spookier some of those segments would be if they had UM music playing over them.

Its not the same show without the spooky original music. Period.

I like the narrator for "Disappeared". But that show would be twice as spooky with old school UM music. Farina just doesn't add to the ambiance like Stack did.

I am going to write them.
Not only am I going to suggest that they use the original music, I am also going to suggest that they return to using 16mm film just like the earlier episodes to give the segments that creepy, gritty look that everyone loves.

It's not going to happen, not trying to discourage anyone but they really couldn't give two ****s what we think, they are in this to make money . The soul of UM died when Robert Stack died
