Is this true? I saw this pic and am wondering if the two shows crossed over or is it just a publicity photo?!?

Had to be publicity. Both shows aired on ABC on Thursdays between 1975 and 1979 (though BM lasted till 1982), so they were probably just promoting both shows. I have seen all the BM eps and the Sweathogs were never guest stars.

Would have been really cool had they done a cross over episode.

Another BM/WBK connection - if you watch the extras on the WBK S1 DVD set, you'll see the cast members' screen tests. John Travolta's audition for Barbarino happened to be on the set of the 12th Precinct squad room. I recognized it right away!!!

They were both set in NYC, so why not?

This photo actually appears in The Great TV Sitcom Book by Rick Mitz, and the caption in said book certainly did nothing to dispel the notion of a crossover or explain that the picture was just part of a publicity stunt. But you're right, it never happened.
