When David Angell tragically died on September 11th 2000, did the show ever really recover creatively or was the show lacking? I really overall enjoyed the show from beginning to end, but the later seasons seemed at times not to be on par with earlier ones. JMO

I'm sorry, I don't even know what that was.

Many sitcoms, however, go on for far too long and the best part of the series is behind them. IMO Frasier is no exception. They would have been better off ending a few seasons earlier.

I can't agree. Season 11 was pretty strong. Losing David was a huge loss, but they show continued to be high quality to me.

Season 10 was a bit domestic, but it was good to see different sides of the characters.

I didn't even know he had died. I'm currently on S10 and the episodes are just as enjoyable now as they were in the early seasons.

Angell was one of 3000 persons who were killed in the attacks of 9/11/01. Why would Frasier recover from a huge tragedy like that? The show ended in 2004.

I don't know if it was Mr. Angell's death or what, but after they moved away from Frasier at the radio station and especially after they hooked up Daphne and Niles, the show became more of a cartoon and less real to me. Frasier was just a ninny who kept falling in and out of love, and the whole show revolved almost exclusively around romantic entanglements. I missed the way it would show Frasier as a man who could help solve other people's problems but never his own.

Wow, that's horrible. I had no idea. :(

The writers paid tribute to Angell in the final episode, but I can't say how b/c it would be spoiler-y for a certain poster in this thread who shall remain nameless. ;)
