After her divorce from Joe, should the writers have paired up Rhoda and her "platonic" Downstairs neighbor Gary (Ron Silver)? Was there a better chemistry between those two than with her and Joe?

Rhoda ultimately got along well with Gary, and for a while I thought maybe they could get something started. Then Gary's parents moved to Florida and he showed a helpless and clingy side that suggested he was too immature for her.

I always kind of liked Gary and thought he'd be a good, though offbeat, boyfriend for Rhoda. He certainly was better than the "bla" Benny Goodman that Brenda hooked up with.

No Gary and Rhoda were destined to be friends,I agree much preferred Gary to the rude and unlikeable Benny.

I did like Gary better than I liked Joe, but Idk if it would have been a good idea to have them dating. They were good friends and dating a friend can either make things work out great, or awkward, and something tells me that it would be awkward for them.

I think Gary and Brenda should have hooked up, not Gary and Rhoda.

I liked Gary and thought he was kind of sexy.

Rhoda became more and more unlikable as the show continued though. Her divorce from Joe really made her bitter.

IDK??? It's been a while since I have seen the later Rhoda eps to form an opinion! I wish METV would keep Rhoda on, not just a summer series!!;) Last time they ran Rhoda on METV about 4 years ago (or so) ? Again I watched the early ones and didn't see the later eps. So it's been a while since I saw Gary Levy! ;)

The first one with the big windows was so much better but I guess she had to downgrade when he dumped her so it would seem more realistic with a single woman's budget.

Joe really changed a lot from when he started didn't he? And not in a good way. :(

I can't recall if Rhoda collected alimony or not. :confused:
