Was anybody a little disappointed with the outcome of the Who Shot Mr. Burns episode of a few seasons ago? Do you think the show jumped the shark with the big reveal?

I wasn't disappointed in the out come and they had lots of good eps afterwards. I was disappointed that Maggie never tried it again!
Just kidding Mr Burns is was of the best characters

Maggie wasn't the REAL killer - they left plenty of clues in that episode and in the following episodes identifying the REAL killer.

I wasn't disappointed by the episode, in fact I thought that it was an interesting twist that they had it where Maggie was the shooter. It would have been too predictable to have Smithers as the one who fired the gun, because I think everyone was expecting that so do I think The Simpsons jumped the shark? No, I don't they did, not at this time anyway.

Dude! You do realize that was 16 years ago?
Do you think the show jumped the shark with the big reveal?
No, but the quality of the shows was much better before Lisa became a vegetarian. That's when we first began to see her truly evil side.
It also set the stage for the most preposterous moment, when an animal from Lisa's illegal zoo badly injures Bart, thus ruining his drumming career and then he is supposed to feel guilty about her losing the animals and him not doing anything about it. What kind of twisted morality is that?

I mean having a baby shoot Mr. Burns might be a little far fetched but I thought it was fine. The Simpsons were great after the Mr. Burns reveal. Although, if you watch the show closely, you'll know they shot alternate endings. One with I think Homer shooting him and another with Smithers shooting him.
Btw, someone else was shot on that episode as well. If you remember Smithers shot Jasper in his wooden leg.
