Gary Coleman's former manager Vic Perillo has been left disgusted by TV executives after they refused to mark the anniversary of the tragic actor's death on Saturday.

The Diff'rent Strokes star died on May 28, 2010, and Perillo has been urging network bosses at NBC, the channel which aired the hit 1980s sitcom, to remember Coleman by running a special tribute this week.

But his request was ignored by NBC heads and Perillo is astonished by their apparent disregard for Coleman, one of the most beloved child stars of his generation.

In a statement issued to WENN, Perillo says, "Gary was exclusive to NBC... He kept NBC in the top ten shows during the 1980's. The late President of Entertainment Brandon Tartikoff personally heralded Gary as responsible for keeping the network in the top ten.

"Network producers and chief executive officers at NBC have responded with, 'We don't have time. We don't want to set a precedent,' and 'We are not interested'.

"I have asked that a simple 10 second picture flashed on the screen of the Today show be shown with an inscription, 'In memoriam to one of NBC's Family'... They could care less."

It is just disgusting. NBC could care less about their past. Yea they couldn't find the time.....Pleeeze, The TV season is over. All that's left for them to air is their trashy reality shows. Oh my. Where will they find the space? They don't want to set a precedent? Give me a break. At least an earlier regime did do a tribute to Michael Landon even though they practically told him they didn't want him any more and he had to sell his next series which only aired as a movie to CBS. At least they pretended to care. Not this bunch. Gary gave his life and I do mean that in the liiteral sense to Diff'rent Strokes and NBC and they can't even be bothered. Unbelievable. :mad:

Did they ever have a tribute for Bob Hope on NBC? I don't remember it if they did. I know they showed his final Bob Hope Show on a Saturday night with little fan fair. That's NBC for you.

CBS on the other hand did do a tribute to Lucille Ball. They even aired the lost Christmas episode the following winter. And ABC did do a tribute to John Ritter. So other networks find the time but NBC has so many great programs, they can't be bothered. :ohno:

It would appear that NBC had turned its back on Gary once they knew that he was sick, and this even goes back to the time before he became gravely ill.

When he appeared on The Insider, it wasn't a pleasurable visit for him. He got mad with the cast members grilling him, but I think that it was really NBC who had him all wrong. The pint-size star was battling emotional problems, marital problems, health problems and he even had a seizure on the set backstage.

When he got mad, yelled at Liz and then walked out, they made it look as though HE was completely in the wrong! This stress had been on Gary for a long, long time, and it was building up. His effort to try to get all this madness settled was part of this build-up.

I saw the incident on the internet, and this show looked really, really stupid. Sensationalist crap.And they seemed to have an agenda : driving Gary crazy so that they could go : "see! the man is violent and should go through anger management" etc.

They KNEW that Gary was high tension wire waiting to snap. They KNEW of his hardship and issues concerning his marriage, finances and health problems.

And so, they nit-pick and hen-pecked him, pushed his buttons and set him off!! They knew that he had anger & frustration built up in his mind, so they cagily planned to put him in the hot seat, dig into his personal affairs and make him mad at them.

I'm now beginning to think that when Lisa and the rest did that, it had put further tension on Gary's brain, setting him up for the kill. Literally!! His small body just couldn't handle the spew of questions from the cast members. It's easy for THEM to put Gary through all that hassling, because they knew that the least little thing made Gary lash out the way that he did when he appeared on the show. They's spent what seemed like years baiting Gary into a fierce heated argument time after time again!!

Then came the finger-pointing, as they shamelessly blamed Gary for everything that took place there!! The dragged him through the dirt, yet they supposedly wondered why Gary snapped at them, chewed them up and spit them out like a piece of bubble gum, and made those nasty gestures at the camera once he got outside in the parking lot just before getting into his waiting limo, when it was THEM who made him go nuts!!! :mad: :mad:
