Okay, sorry, I didn't mean to break the story of where I did, but I to log out momentarily.
So the next day, Monday, I went to Universal Studios to find a possible ticket outlet. The girl at the one ticket kiosk said , sorry,
they couldn't give out tickets the day before the taping. I was so disappointed. I had come so far, only to go away empty-handed.
She then whispered, "don't tell anyone this--" and gave me a ticket to the FACTS OF LIFE TAPING!!!! I was so overjoyed, I was finally able to go!!!!
Even though I have told this before, I will tell it again--LUCKY YOU!! The next day, Tuesday, I began the long trek into heavenly
Hollywood... I marched down Sunset to Gower Ave.--and there it stood--the Colossus that was Sunset-Gower Studios!! I walked toward Fountain St. in back and against the high black iron-rail-fence was the sign with that logo--The Facts Of Life!! THIS IS IT!!
It was about noon, and I would wait a long while as a huge line
began to form. A man with a cart appeared and began selling
snacks and treats. After over what seemed to be an hour, a couple of official-type people came out and handed out numbers--OH MY GOD!! IT'S HAPPENING!! And so, like all good little lucky boys and girls with their golden tickets being led into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, we entered what was to be OUR HOME--OUR REALITY--OUR PARALLEL UNIVERSE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.
Inside it was dimly-lit around what appeared to be rows and rows of bleachers. The main light came from the stage--where a familiar living room spread out for ACRES--MY GOSH, IT WAS THE BEVERLY ANN STICKLE OF PEEKSKILL, N.Y., RESIDENCE!! After everyone sat down, a guy came out and told us we had a special part on today's show--we were THE AUDIENCE!! After a few do's and don'ts he proceeded to tickle everyone's funnybone with jokes about Col. Oliver North's paper shredder, and then he announced--
