Well, it's time again for another of Mary's disastrous dinner parties. This time, things fall apart when Lou's old girlfriend, Charlene, shows up with her new -- and much younger -- boyfriend. As Mary (Mary Tyler Moore) looks on helplessly (doesn't she always?), Lou (Ed Asner) hatches a scheme to make Charlene jealous. Janis Paige steps into the role of Charlene Maguire, played on two previous occasions by Sheree North. "Menage a Lou" originally aired on January 24, 1976.

I hated it though when they recast the part of Charlene.

I really liked the first Charlene,to me they showed have made a new

character for that episode.

Didn't Janis Paige play the gal that had a crush on Archie Bunker? He went to her apartment and they kissed.

There are a lot of actors that had bit parts on the various shows that were popular at the time. A lot of the same actors are seen on Sanford and Son, Good Times, All in the Family, etc.

I believe that was the same actress. Janis Paige also made the transition into soap operas in the late 80s/early 90s when she played Minx Lockridge on the now-defunct NBC serial Santa Barbara.
