The Dallas Mavericks takes on the Miami Heat

5 years ago, the Miami Heat led by the duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade def. the Dallas Mavericks led by Dirk Nowitzki with a series of 4-2

and now, 5 years later, they're back in the Finals, this time, it's the rematch

The Dallas Mavericks had overcome 3 Teams in the Western Conference such as the Portland Trailblazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and they also swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western-Conference Semi-Finals

The Miami Heat had also overcome 3 Teams in the Eastern Conference such as the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls

and now, it's the rematch

Will the Miami Heat make it 2 for 2 in the Finals over the Mavericks and will Dwyane Wade win his 2nd NBA Championship and will Lebron James win his 1st NBA Championship or will Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks even up the score and win the NBA Championship for the very 1st time?

Unlike 2006, there's no one to stop Dirk. No Shaq, no Mourning, no Walker, and no Posey. Haslem isn't tall enough, Bosh is a soft defender, and Ilgauskas(if he even plays) is way too slow. Joel Anthony is their only hope. You're also replacing Devin Harris with Jason Kidd. Dallas should win in 5-6.

That's true that Dirk is better than he was in 2006...however, it's also true that Wade doesn't have to be a one man show either in order the Heat to win. Their top scorers in the 2006 playoffs (all rounds):

Wade 28.4 ppg
Shaq 18.4 ppg
Walker (as in Antoine) 13.3

No one else averaged in double figures. J.Williams was next at 9.3 ppg.

One has to say, scoring wise, that the combination of Lebron and Bosh is better than Shaq and Walker. I've NEVER been a fan of Bosh, but if he continues to shoot like he has been, I'm not sure Dallas can beat Miami.

Dallas is also (imo) better than they were in 2006... basically, Tyson Chandler and Shawn Marion are going to have to play at a VERY high level throughout the finals for Dallas to have a chance. I think they can do it.

Both teams are mentally tough at this point, I don't think there's an ounce of quit in either team.

I think it'll be a great series, but if I HAD to pick, I'd go with Miami in 7. And trust me, you have no idea how much it PAINS me to say that lol.

I'm a Laker fan from WAY back...I was hoping for a Laker/Celtic (one more time) final or a Lakers/Bulls final... I've never liked the Heat (even though I live in FL)... but I do have to hand it to Miami... they put this team together to win a title right now, and so far, they've stood up to the pressure of the entire country waiting for them to collapse. That's not easy.

But both teams have guys who are playing GREAT, and both teams have outstanding role players as well. Gonna be a good one.

Tuesday Night, the Miami Heat def. the Dallas Mavericks and tonight, the Mavericks pulled it off with a score of 95-93

D-Wade scored 36 points and Dirk scored 24 points

Next Week, Dallas will host the Miami Heat All Next Week starting Sunday

Dallas won on Thursday...I thought the series would be 2-0, it looks like Miami may need something than Three good players and mediocre players. (I also won't be surprised that when LeButthead's contract is up...he'll go to The Lakers).

On a semantic note, the NBA and ESPN need to quit referring to things like this as a "rematch". After five years, it's not a rematch. Each team has only about two guys on the roster who were on the finals teams in 2006.... both teams have different coaches than they had back in 2006... heck, neither team even has the same uniform that they had in 2006.

A rematch would be the Lakers and Celtics meeting in 1984 and 1985 (as well as 1987).... same core of 7-8 players every time, for both teams... same coaches... same uniforms... THAT was a rematch.

I want Miami to win but if they don't win this next game, it's gonna be over. Lebron needs to score more and the bench needs to produce. Chris Bosh also needs to score more. Dwayne Wade has been the only one consistent.

Congratulations to Dirk, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Mark Cuban and the Mavs organization. They played a great, great series.

I think that, to celebrate, Dirk Nowitzki, Jose Barea and Brian Cardinal (i.e. 3 white guys) should preen around on a stage, complete with smoke machines, and walk around flexing their muscles, the way Wade, Lebron and Bosh did at the beginning of the season. That would be too funny! And it would be a great way to rub it in the faces of the Miami Heat. And they should have some country music blasting, instead of the hip hop crap they play in Miami...or better yet, Fabian's greatest hits.
