You know Dawsongirl, in 1998 when I went on a hype to find and get copies of Maude tapes, I called Columbia for them (This was before I had internet). The guy was very rude and he told me that they do not lend out their shows to anybody and if I called again, no matter what department, I would end up back in his office. He was a reak jerk. I called another time, requesting Mary Hartman shows and the guy was as pleasant as pie. He was also very young and never heard of the show. Eventually there might be a time when a real young person (who never followed classic TV before), might take over and not try and market the show because he never heard of it.......Oh by the way, this young man was the head of the syndication department at Columbia Television in Culver City CA. Anyway, I took it upon myself to write a letter to a local station, a very persuasive one. In 6 monthts they finally carried the show, and the following year TVLAND started carrying it. As for Mary Hartman, I got those from E-bay and someone who taped them when they aired. When Maude came on, I taped every single episode so that I would never have that problem again, and help traders so that they don't have to go through the same garbage I went through. Anyway, for informations sake, the local station episodes and the TVLAND episodes were cut differently. I mean that Ch. 26 would air a scene that TVLAND didn't show and TVLAND would have a scene that 26 wouldn't show. Shows were 25 minutes back then. You may find some local station Adam-12's with some never before seen footage. I recently did with Perfect Strangers even though I watched them all the time as a kid.
