Whenever he did something that affected Mr. Whittendale and he became scared that he would get thrown out his high rise apt, he always said to Weezy
"We are going to be on the street if he throws us out"
Now this was a man with seven cleaning stores and a huge bank account so if they were evicted why would they be on the street when he would have the money to get another place with no problem?
They were not the Evans, LOL

I don't recall him or them saying they'd be on the street. Only that they'd be losing their home which was true.
They were used to it, liked it, and didn't want to leave.

He said it in the 84-85 season when he burned Mr. Whittendale suit

My guess is that he had a prime spot for one of his stores in Mr. Whittendale's building and didn't want to lose that.

I think psychologically he is scared to think that he might wind up poor again. It never leaves the pysche. No matter how rich you become the feeling might always be there

But he was just talking being evicted which had nothing to do with him being poor again

Well it doesn't matter because he's not looking at it like being evicted. He might be looking at it like "out on the streets again" Maybe when he was younger it happened to him so he might not forget it.

But if evicted i'm sure he and weezy would have went to a hotel temporarily

I understand but when I look at him whining I see a man who's scared.
Scared that he'll be in the streets again like he (probably) was when he was a younger boy/man.
He's not thinking with clarity. He's really afraid.

Well he would have to be on the street to actually get to the hotel so he was right in that he'd be on the street for at least a little while.
