Tell us about what you’re doing on one of our favorite summer shows, Royal Pains.

I’m playing Henry Winkler’s father. Yes, I’m responsible for that creature. It’s fun because one of Henry’s first breaks was to be on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He was prepossessing at the time, and he’s always been grateful for the time he had there. So it was a good match.

Is this true or is Ed embellishing the truth???

i think you misunderstood him - he was referring to Henry's character on Royal Pains; as his father he's responsible for the "creature"

Henry plays a great character on the show - he's a villain, a hero, bumbling, yet he's the guys' father and he's trying to regain their trust, so you gotta give him a chance.

Sorry about that. I thought maybe Ed Asner gave him his 1st big break on TMTMS.
