After over a decade as one of General Hospital‘s leading men, Ingo Rademacher has been let go. “It is with mixed emotions and regret that I write this note to you, my fans and colleagues,” the actor said in a statement. “After 15 years on GH portraying Jax I must say goodbye. I’m fired.” Without giving further explanation, Rachemacher thanked his fans profusely, as well as “everyone at GH, the producers, directors, crew, my fellow actors and ABC/Disney…”

Not too surprising - I really never thought Ingo was that great an actor and really never seemed to improve. The only pairing he ever had that really worked was with Vanessa Marcil's Brenda - and that's been history for ages.

I loved him and Brenda at first but then I lost interest in them. Probably the writing....

I thought this would happen once Ingo was put on recurring status. Makes me wonder if there is any truth to the "rumors" about ABC canceling General Hospital to make room for Katie Couric's new talk show...

Oh, I don't think it's a matter of "if" GH will be gone, but "when". Whether it's a Katie Couric show or something else, I think it's a foregone conclusion. Of course, GH didn't help their cause by not bringing Genie Francis (Laura) back on a full-time basis, but that's another rant for another day...

As sad as I would be to know that GH (the soap that caused me to fall in love with the genre of soap operas in general) is gone, ABC might as well finish the job and cancel them all. I mean, they've already ruined their station as it is. I do feel terrible for all those actors/actresses/etc losing their jobs-and a part of their history, really....

Not to mention the behind the scenes people - makeup, hair, wardrobe, props, sets, cameramen, etc. Too, too sad. :(
