While promoting her new book, a personal memoir called 'All My Life,' Susan Lucci revealed that the last airdate for 'All My Children' will be Friday, September 23.
Lucci, who began her dual role as Erica and Jane this week, explained that the challenge of the storyline has her enthusiastic about the show, even in light of the upcoming cancellation. Lucci even compared the twin tale to a classic Bette Davis movie!
"As far as the doppelganger storyline, it is not an evil twin at all," she told TVGuide.ca. "This is a very contemporary story of identify theft and what you can do in modern times. It's like 'All About Eve.' This woman [Jane] does not just want Erica Kane's credit cards, she wants those too. But she wants her life ... the glamor, the glitz, the red carpet, and the men."
