View Full Version : Horror Anticipation: WOOHOO! 'Tucker & Dale Vs Evil' on the big screen!
Torgo 05-19-2011, 12:14 PM What are some upcoming/newer horror films you want to see?
Mine:
Piranha 3DD
Fright Night(remake)
Stake Land
Mother's Day(remake)
Rubber(This is right up my alley, a movie about a tire with telepathic powers!)
The Super '10(Not to be confused with James Gunn's Super. Good to see Lynn Lowry(who was in 70's genre flicks like The Crazies, I Drink Your Blood, and They Came From Within) still acting.
Chop( Directed by Trent Haaga, who wrote Deadgirl. Star's Haaga's Terror Firmer costar Will Keenan)
John Carpenter's The Ward
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark(remake)
The Woman In Black
Joss Whedon’s Cabin In The Woods
The Inkeepers (I'm a fan of Ti West's previous movie House Of The Devil)
Knights of Badassdom
Apollo 18
Super 8
House At The End Of The Street
The House on the Edge of the Park Part II(Especially since Ruggero Deodato is directing, and David Hess and Giovanni Lombardo Radice are reprising their roles)
The 4th Reich
The Woman(Lucky McKee working again with Jack Ketchum, and Angela Bettis)
Livid(aka Livide)
Herschell Gordon Lewis' The Uh-Oh! Show
Sleepaway Camp Reunion
Deadly Dares: Truth or Dare Part IV(Tim Ritter's films are hit or miss, but I love the original Truth or Dare?: A Critical Madness)
Inbred
Rosewood Lane
Jeepers Creepers III
JamesG 05-19-2011, 01:17 PM Besides some films on your list I want to check out the direct-to-DVD sequels to Hellraiser (Revelations) and Children of the Corn (Genesis).
(As well as the upcoming remake of Hellraiser by Dunston & Melton)
As of now there hasn't been any word of a DVD release date for either of them, some say it is unlikely, but if it were to come out I'd like to see them. They were released without any fanfare in one theater out in LA a few months ago.
A couple of films coming out soon that I want to see are Final Destination 5 and the Silent Hill sequel Revelation 3D.
These won't be coming out for a while but I'm eager to check out TCM 3D and Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem.
As well as Tim Burton's Dark Shadows flick.
Torgo 05-19-2011, 02:02 PM As well as Tim Burton's Dark Shadows flick.
I'm hoping with the release of the new Dark Shadows movie they'll release House Of Dark Shadows, and Night Of Dark Shadows on DVD.
UMFaninMD 05-20-2011, 02:05 AM They're doing a sequel to House on the Edge of the Park? I wonder if they'll use the disco song again since that was the best thing about the movie. :D
Two that aren't on your list but were released a few months ago are Bereavement and Insidious, those peaked my interest when I saw the trailers for them.

I found the original to be quite entertaining, and you can never go wrong with David Hess.

YellowBrickRoad '10
yxwjLu3Jp8Q
One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire - 572 people - walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. They left behind their clothes, their money, all of their essentials. Even their dogs were abandoned, tied to posts and left to starve. No One knows why. A search party dispatched by the U.S. Army eventually discovered the remains of nearly 300 of Friar's evacuees. Many had frozen to death. Others were cruelly and mysteriously slaughtered. The bodies of the remaining citizens are still unaccounted for. Over the years, a quiet cover-up operation managed to weave the story of Friar into the stuff of legends and backwoods fairy tales. The town has slowly repopulated, but the vast wilderness is mostly untracked, with the northern-most stretches off limits to local hunters and loggers. In 2008, the coordinates for the "YELLOWBRICKROAD" trail head were declassified. The first official expedition into a dark and twisted wilderness will attempt to solve the mystery of the lost citizens of Friar...and reach the end of the trail.

With titles like Wadzilla, I Was A Teenage Werebear, The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, and Zom-B-Movie, Chillerama not only celebrates the golden age of drive-in B horror shlock but also spans over four decades of cinema with something for every bad taste. -IMdB.com

The Barrens '12
Despite their reluctance, Richard Marlow takes his wife Cynthia, their young son Danny, and his teenage daughter Sadie to the Pine Barrens for a long weekend of camping and family bonding. As they arrive at the Wharton State Forest, a mutilated deer runs out into the road, nearly colliding with the Marlows' car. Later that evening, another bloodied animal falls from a tree. Bad turns to worse when, in the middle of the night, a college boy camping nearby disappears into the woods.
Nevertheless, Richard presses the family to hike further into the forest, to the spot where he used to camp with his father. He is feverish and a past wound on his arm appears badly infected, but when it begins to rain, there is no turning back. Richard's sickness soon becomes debilitating, his headaches turn to hallucinations. What's worse, he believes there is something stalking them…something with yellow eyes, pointed horns, and the wings of a bat - THE JERSEY DEVIL. The disfigured bodies of the missing camper and another college boy soon turn up. The Marlows must fight for their lives as the horrifying answer reveals itself in a shocking and tragic conclusion.
