the truth

I thought someone would have this thread up for today long before I would this evening. Nice to take a moment today to remember just how great she was. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of her. Probably most here feel the same way. R.I.P. to one absolutely amazing talent and person who will always live on within most of us all while bringing a smile to everyone who remembers her and her great work.
:) We miss you, Liz! :)

I remember that day so well. My grandmother had passed away 4 days earlier, and her funeral had been the day before. I had asked my mother to stay home from school for an extra day and she agreed. We went to the supermarket together, and heard the news about Liz on the car radio driving home. It made an already miserable week even sadder. :(

I remember hearing the news on the CBS newsbreak after GL. Made the day less happy.
That said, she lives on!!!

Beautifully sad, Reverend Jim. Liz was and is one of a kind. She truly had that something special.

I am adopted and when that happened, my first name was re-spelled and then my middle name changed, with it.
And even though it's not one of my favorite names (for myself), I tend to smile at times when I think of EM and am glad that we DO share the same name. *smiles*
And if I am ever blessed with a daughter, I plan on naming her, Samantha. *smiles*
I have always loved that name, but it doesn't hurt that there are already several "Sams" in my family and that I could continue the chain, but this time with a girl. ;)

I have loved Liz for most all of my life. I have seen many good photographs of her but the one you listed here with her in the long dress sitting in the chaise lounge is the prettiest picture I've seen of her. The epitome of grace and elegance. Notice no tattoos. Now a days, girls have tattoos on their arms and shoulders, so un-feminine. Liz was so lovely!:D

I heard someone say that Liz was to TV what Grace Kelly was to film. That is a beautiful description. Both radiated charm, elegance, beauty, sophistication and class.

Yeah I'd say so.
