I might be in the minority in thinking this but do you think a late night lineup would work? What I mean by late night lineup, Im not talking about the 11:30 pm, 12 am talk shows, Im talking about 1 am to 5 am. What if there was a late night soap opera, game show(s), westerns during 1 to 5 am time period? Do you think it would draw? I feel like there are people who work during the night and people who are sick and cant sleep and some people might be getting ready for work that might want to watch something other than the news.

Do you think this would work or do you think Im crazy?

almost everything I watch is recorded on DVR not live, so it increasingly doesn't matter what time anything actually airs anymore

- unless you are ABC or TVLand and start and end all of your shows off the clock so no one can watch the entire **$*#% show without messing up the rest of your recordings

I was kind of thinking about if there was a late night lineup, what would be on it? When your up late at night sometimes, you want to watch something. I think everything thats on at that time, is shown during the day or at night and you've probably watched it already.

I used to love watching the old CBN lineup in the early 80's when they had all the classics from the 1950's on. I haven't watch late night tv in a long time. It was before I started to post here. Nowadays I usually just go to bed but I used to go to bed with the tv on. All they got on anymore is informercials and unfunny late night comedians.

Thats the thing, Stuck in the 70s. If I am up late night for whatever reason, what am I going to watch? Paid programming on every other channel? Thats what I would like to change. If we can have reality shows on all the time, then Im sure we can find something to watch late at night.

I should have mentioned this when I started this thread, there would be NO OFF THE CLOCK PROGRAMMING!! I put that in caps because some networks are off the clock and I dont think I have to mention which ones.

I agree 100% bring back late night movies and non commercial programs especially the chiller/creature features.
I could do wonders with AMC for starters I'd go back to the original format of commercial free uncut movies, no movie younger than ten years will be aired, I'd get rid of Walking Dead and air the Three Stooges uncut commercial free, and I'd air classic shorts and vignettes.

The CBS station in my market has recently begun showing old sci-fi b-movies on Friday and Saturday nights. Pretty cool. I wonder if it's a syndication pack other stations across the country air.

I'd get rid of Walking Dead

There's no way AMC would get rid of one of its highest-rated and most profitable shows.

While I didn't applaud AMC becoming a commercial network, the result of it has been Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels. Not a bad compromise.

Plus, there's still TCM to fill the void AMC left. They arguably shows better movies than the old AMC did, anyway.

It's also the dumbest show on TV and the reason for its popularity is that zombies and anything to do with the undead is in vogue in other words they are capitalizing on the latest horror trend.

I would at least replay the primetime lineup.

YES. A late night line-up of older tv shows and movies would of course attract viewers.It always has in the past. The problem is(and you mentioned it mets82) is stuff like paid programming etc. which of course should be banned.It is still illegal in many other countries to air that rubbish.Before stuff like paid programming existed,alot of good programs,movies etc.-you name it were often aired in the late evening.And if a station signed off they would just show a test pattern for a few hours.

I'd like to see Too Close For Comfort, 3's Company, or Jeffersons repeats late night.

I am an unemployed bum, so a Late Night programming block would be most welcome. I do get tired of having to stay up to 4 AM to watch Cheers followed by two episodes of Frasier on Peachtree TV.

I love watching old TV shows late at night. Right now it's 12:33am and I'm watching Golden Girls. Funny how shows that I couldn't stand when they were on prime time are so much better in syndication! Frasier would be a huge example;e of that!
