Long-running syndication variety show Showtime At the Apollo is staging a comeback, this time on BET. The cable network is finalizing a deal for a pilot order to a Showtime at the Apollo revival executive produced by Jamie Foxx and the the show's original executive producer/director Don Weiner. If picked up to series, Showtime is expected to air as a primetime series on the cable network.

....why the original "SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO" just "fell apart" after 22 seasons. When WNBC-TV in New York started showing their "pre-packaged" lifestyle magazine "LX-TV NEW YORK" locally after "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE", and shuttled "SHOWTIME" to Sunday, and just let it die in 2008 (the show was primarily produced for the NBC O&O stations)...I know there was some kind of problem involving Whoopi Goldberg's participation as hostess, then Anthony Anderson replaced her.....in any case, I'd love to see the series revived on BET.
