CBS ANNOUNCES 2011-2012 PRIMETIME SCHEDULE

America's Most Watched Network Adds Five New Series

New Dramas Include a Thriller from J.J. Abrams, PERSON OF INTEREST, And Two Shows with Very Cerebral Twists - UNFORGETTABLE and A GIFTED MAN

Comedies Feature 2 BROKE GIRLS from Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City"), and Two 'Odd Couple' Guys In HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN

CSI Moves to Wednesday at 10:00 PM, THE GOOD WIFE Relocates to Sunday at 9:00 PM and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Moves to Saturday at 8:00 PM

19 Series Return to Top-Rated Line-Up

UNDERCOVER BOSS and THE 2-2, a New Drama from Tribeca Productions and Executive Producers Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, to Premiere Mid-Season

NEW YORK - CBS announced today its new 2011-2012 primetime schedule, ordering five new series and making key time-period moves for CSI and THE GOOD WIFE to strengthen its already top-rated primetime lineup. CBS will, once again, finish the season as America's most watched network, marking the eighth time it has done so in the last nine years.

The new series include three new dramas and two new comedies: PERSON OF INTEREST, a crime thriller from renowned executive producer J.J. Abrams starring Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson; UNFORGETTABLE, starring Dylan Walsh and Poppy Montgomery as a former detective with a rare condition that enables her to remember virtually every detail from every day of her life; A GIFTED MAN about a preeminent surgeon whose life changes forever when his deceased ex-wife returns, starring Patrick Wilson and Jennifer Ehle; 2 BROKE GIRLS, a comedy about two strikingly different young waitresses who form an unlikely friendship, starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs; and an odd-couple comedy, HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN, starring David Hornsby and Kevin Dillon, about a refined magazine columnist and his very unrefined personal trainer.

For mid-season, CBS will present the third season of the reality series UNDERCOVER BOSS, and the new police drama, THE 2-2, from Tribeca Productions and executive producers Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal.

The new 2011-2012 schedule is as follows:

On Monday, the veteran HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER returns at 8:00 PM, to provide a strong lead-in for another young comedy, 2 BROKE GIRLS, at 8:30 PM. Ashton Kutcher joins the cast of the top-rated comedy, TWO AND A HALF MEN, at 9:00 PM, followed by returning freshman hits MIKE & MOLLY at 9:30 PM and HAWAII FIVE-0 at 10:00 PM.

On Tuesday, the #1-rated scripted series, NCIS, returns at 8:00 PM followed by the #2-rated scripted series, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, at 9:00 PM, providing a powerful lead-in to the new drama, UNFORGETTABLE, at 10:00 PM.

On Wednesday, SURVIVOR returns to the time period it improved 100% in viewers last season (8:00 PM). CRIMINAL MINDS, one of the top-rated dramas on television, is back at 9:00 PM, and is paired with CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION to form a strong two-hour crime drama block from 9:00-11:00 PM.

On Thursday, CBS adds a new comedy and drama to the middle of the line-up, book-ended by two established hit series: television's #1 comedy, THE BIG BANG THEORY, returns at 8:00 PM, providing a strong lead-in to the new comedy, HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN. J.J. Abrams' new crime-thriller, PERSON OF INTEREST, joins the line-up at 9:00 PM, followed by the time-period winning drama, THE MENTALIST, as the night's strong anchor at 10:00 PM.

On Friday, CBS's time-period winning, two-hour New York police drama block returns from 9:00-11:00 PM with CSI: NY and BLUE BLOODS. A unique new series opens the night at 8:00 PM with A GIFTED MAN, a medical drama with a spiritual twist.

On Saturday, original programming opens the night at 8:00 PM with RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, which will be paired with COMEDYTIME at 8:30 PM, featuring encore broadcasts of CBS comedies. The successful duo of CRIMETIME at 9:00 PM and the time period-winning 48 HOURS MYSTERY at 10:00 PM closes the night.

Sunday night has an award-winning flare. The acclaimed and always top-rated 60 MINUTES opens at 7:00 PM, followed by the seven-time Emmy Award winning series, THE AMAZING RACE, at 8:00 PM, leading into the critically acclaimed, award-winning drama, THE GOOD WIFE, at 9:00 PM. The always successful CSI: MIAMI caps the night at 10:00 PM.

The New Dramas are:

UNFORGETTABLE stars Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic former police detective with a rare condition that makes her memory so flawless that every place, every conversation, every moment of joy and every heartbreak is forever embedded in her mind. It's not just that she doesn't forget anything - she can't; except for one thing: the details that would help solve her sister's long-ago murder. Carrie has tried to put her past behind her, but she's unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh), when she consults on a homicide case. His squad includes Det. Mike Costello (Michael Gaston), Al's right-hand man; Detective Roe Saunders (Kevin Rankin), the junior member of the team; and Detective Nina Inara (Daya Vaidya), a sassy, street-smart cop. Being back on the job after a break feels surprisingly right for Carrie. Despite her conflicted feelings for Al, she decides to permanently join his unit as a detective solving homicides - most notably, the unsolved murder of her sister. All she needs to do is remember. Ed Redlich, John Bellucci, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are executive producers for Sony Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

PERSON OF INTEREST stars Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson in a crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice. Reese's (Caviezel) special training in covert operations appeals to Finch (Emerson), a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law using Reese's adept skills and Finch's unlimited wealth to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens. Reese's actions catch the attention of the NYPD, including homicide detective Carter (Henson), and Fusco (Kevin Chapman), a cop who Reese uses to his advantage. With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything. Emmy Award winners J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk ("Lost"), Academy Award nominee Jonathan Nolan ("Memento"), David Semel ("Heroes") and Greg Plageman ("Cold Case") are the executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

A GIFTED MAN is a drama about a brilliant, charismatic surgeon whose life changes forever when his deceased ex-wife begins teaching him the meaning of life from the "hereafter." Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson) is an exceptional doctor who lives a materialistic life of luxury thanks to his work-obsessed career and powerful and wealthy patients; however, Michael's ordered world is rocked when his ex-wife, Anna (Jennifer Ehle), an idealistic free-clinic doctor and the love of his life, mysteriously appears to him. Michael's off-beat sister, Christina (Julie Benz), a single mom to her teenaged son, Milo (Liam Aiken), is thrilled that Anna's back in her brother's life, even as an "illusion," because Michael was always a better person with her. Curious about Michael's sudden change in behavior is his efficient assistant, Rita (Margo Martindale). When Anna asks Michael to go to her clinic to help keep it running, he meets Autumn (Afton Williamson), a volunteer carrying on Anna's work with the underprivileged. Touched by those in need and accepting of Anna's compassionate "presence," Michael's attitude toward serving the rich and poor is turned upside down, and he begins to see that there's room in his life for everyone. Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant ("Erin Brockovich"), Academy Award winner Jonathan Demme ("The Silence of the Lambs"), Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly and Neal Baer ("ER") are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

The New Comedies are:

2 BROKE GIRLS is a comedy about two young women waitressing at a greasy spoon diner who strike up an unlikely friendship in the hopes of launching a successful business - if only they can raise the cash. Sassy, streetwise Max (Kat Dennings) works two jobs just to get by, one of which is waiting tables during the night shift at the retro-hip Williamsburg Diner. Sophisticated Caroline (Beth Behrs) is an uptown trust fund princess who's having a run of bad luck that forces her to reluctantly give waitressing a shot. At first, Max sees Caroline as yet another in a long line of inept servers she must cover for, but she's surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as she does style. When Caroline discovers Max's knack for baking amazing cupcakes, she sees a lucrative future for them, but they first need to raise the start-up money. While they save their tips, they'll stay at the restaurant, working with Oleg (Jonathan Kite), an overly flirtatious Russian cook; Earl (Garrett Morris), a 75-year-old kool-kat cashier; and Han Lee (Matthew Moy), the new, eager-to-please owner of the diner. Working together, these two broke girls living in one expensive city might just find the perfect recipe for their big break. Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") and writer-comedian Whitney Cummings ("Chelsea Lately") are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN, inspired by the book of the same name, is a comedy about the unlikely friendship between a traditional, refined writer and an unrefined personal trainer. Andrew Carlson (David Hornsby) is an etiquette columnist whose devotion to ideals from a more civilized time has lead to a life detached from modern society. Infectiously optimistic, Bert Lansing (Kevin Dillon) is a reformed "bad boy" from Andrew's past who inherited a fitness center, but can still be rude, loud and sloppy. When Andrew's editor, Jerry (Dave Foley), tells him to put a modern, sexy twist on his column or be fired, he hires Bert as a life coach in the hopes of learning to be less "gentle man" and more "real man." Andrew's mom, Diane (Nancy Lenehan), and his bossy sister, Janet (Mary Lynn Rajskub), support the plan, as would Janet's husband, Mike (Rhys Darby), if he was allowed to have an opinion. Though Andrew and Bert's views may be centuries apart, they may find they're each other's missing link. David Hornsby ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"), Adam Chase ("Friends"), Ted Schachter ("The Invention of Lying"), Joe Hipps and Modi Wiczyk are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

The New Midseason Series:

From Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal comes THE 2-2, which follows six diverse NYPD rookies as they patrol the gritty streets of upper Manhattan. The new trainees include Jennifer "White House" Perry (Leelee Sobieski), a former college volleyball star and Marine MP in Iraq with a take-charge attitude; Ray "Lazarus" Harper (Adam Goldberg), the oldest rookie and a former police news reporter with better sources than many seasoned cops; Tonya Sanchez (Judy Marte), who comes from a family with a criminal history and has a very personal connection inside the force; Ahmad "Kiterunner" Kahn (Tom Reed), an Afghani native who fought his way to freedom; Kenny McClaren (Stark Sands), a fourth-generation police officer with great instincts but qualms about joining the force; and Jayson Toney (Harold House Moore), a young basketball legend who squandered his opportunity in the NBA. Their demanding Field Training Officer, Daniel "Yoda" Dean (Terry Kinney), is a case-hardened, unsentimental veteran of the force who emphasizes basics and holds each cop accountable for their actions. With unique backgrounds, personalities and reasons for being on the force, the new cops will make their share of rookie mistakes while they figure out how to relate to their boss, each other and to the people they swore to protect. Two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro ("The Godfather: Part II," "Raging Bull"), Jane Rosenthal ("Meet the Parents"), Academy Award nominee Richard Price ("The Color of Money"), Ken Sanzel ("Numb3rs") and James Mangold ("Walk the Line") are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Tribeca Productions. The pilot was directed by James Mangold.

CBS, I assume, will move RULES to a proper day and time once one of their newer comedies gets canceled. If not, and this is a burn-off season for syndication, please CBS, do the respectable thing and allow the writers enough time to wrap the show up with a proper finale!

Wow, a sitcom on Saturday. Haven't seen that in a while. This doesn't look that bad - but the new series don't really seem impressive, to me. Especially "How To Be a Gentleman"....

LOL, ROE on Saturdays with no support. If that's not a burnoff, I don't know what is.

CBS better fix these NFL overruns on Sunday(if the season happens), because otherwise TGW will die there.

You know, since they are bringing back 2 and a Half, maybe they should have changed the name also since they are re-working it. The kid is grown and it would have given it a fresher start since the show is minus Sheen plus Kutcher.

They aren't changing the name for the same reason ABC wouldn't allow Bill Lawrence to change the name of Scrubs to Scrubs: Med in season 9... syndication!

"Rules of Engagement" back on Thursdays (effective October 20th), and "How to Be A Gentleman" gets shoved on Saturdays behind "Two and a Half Men" reruns beginning October 15th. Its episode order has been cut too... from 13 to 9 episodes.

Via TVByTheNumbers (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/10/07/cbs-rules-of-engagement-moving-to-thursdays-how-to-be-a-gentleman-banished-to-saturdays-effectively-canceled/106537/) -
CBS has announced it is moving the original episodes of Rules of Engagement to the Thursday, 8:30pm following The Big Bang Theory beginning October 20. How To Be A Gentleman will be exiled to Saturday nights beginning next week (October 15). Next week a repeat of The Big Bang Theory will air on 8:30p on Thursday. The move of 'Rules' to Saturday is not a big surprise, and neither really is 'Gentleman's' banishment.

How To Be A Gentleman is effectively canceled and will surely get no more than its initial 13 episode order, assuming that's not cut (update: Vulture reports insiders are saying the order will be cut back to 9 episodes).

Here's the release from CBS:

Via Vulture (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/10/cbs_is_moving_how_to_be_a_gent.html) -
CBS is pulling How to Be a Gentleman from its posh time slot behind The Big Bang Theory, but it's not totally giving up on the first-year sitcom (yet). The network plans to shift Gentleman to 8 p.m. Saturdays starting October 15. That had been the time slot where the Eye network had planned to air the new season of veteran comedy Rules of Engagement, starring David Spade. Now, however, Rules will get to follow Big Bang on Thursdays, beginning October 20. While Gentleman will get to stay on the air a bit longer, CBS is being realistic about its odds of survival: Industry insiders tell Vulture the show's original thirteen-episode order is being trimmed to just nine. Meanwhile, ABC hasn't announced any decision on the fate of Charlie's Angels, though the show's three weeks of declining ratings make it an obvious cancellation candidate.

I wonder with Rules Of Engagement starting a month later than other shows if it will air a full season of episodes. Also there are still two unaired episodes from last season.

Anyone have a guess to where they think The 2-2 will end up?

I really can't see CBS dumping another NEW series on Fridays at 8pm, so I could see something like this happening:

Tuesday
8 - NCIS
9 - NCIS: Los Angeles
10 - The 2-2

Friday
8 - Unforgettable
9 - CSI: NY
10 - Blue Bloods

OR...

Wednesday
8 - Survivor
9 - Criminal Minds
10 - The 2-2

Friday
8 - CSI
9 - CSI: NY
10 - Blue Bloods

I'd say Sundays at 10pm, and dump CSI: Miami on Fridays, but The Good Wife is an AWFUL lead in.

Can't imagine any of these current primetime series ending their runs unless they have a planned ending:

2 Broke Girls
The Amazing Race
The Big Bang Theory (renewed through 2013-14)
Criminal Minds (it's attracting at least 10 million viewers each week)
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
CSI: Miami
CSI: NY
The Good Wife
Hawaii Five-O
The Mentalist
Mike & Molly
NCIS
NCIS: LA
Person of Interest
Survivor
Two and a Half Men
Unforgettable
How I Met Your Mother (renewed through season 8)

Sooner or later, CBS is gonna run out of room for new shows on its primetime schedule, and very few new shows will debut next season. Maybe if I let Rules of Engagement end this season (too bad, it has 10 million per episode) or the next (with a reduced 13-episode order)

If they wanted Sundays, they could try "The 2-2" at 9pm and slide "The Good Wife" to 10pm.

CBS has to cut some dead weight, and right now CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, The Good Wife, Person of Interest, and Unforgettable are all in danger. Everything else will make it to next season, and in order to add another two-three dramas something has to go.

Thank you. I'm so tired of falling in love with shows, then having them ripped away. Most recently, it was Men of a Certain Age. There's not a reason in the world that The Good Wife shouldn't have a decent run. It has it all, compelling storylines, fantastic characters, a dash of sex, lol, talented writers...what else do people want? I'll never understand. Maybe it's because I'm a big follower of politics that I find this show so interesting.

09.25.11 10.66 2.2/ 5
10.02.11 11.08 2.2/ 5
10.09.11 10.28 2.1/ 5
10.16.11 10.33 2.1/ 5

10.30.11 10.60 2.0/ 5
11.06.11 9.07 2.0/ 5
11.13.11 10.24 2.0/ 5
11.20.11 9.79 1.9/ 5
12.04.11 9.94 1.9/ 4
12.11.11 11.56 2.2/ 5

The only dramas that it is ahead of, at current time, would be CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and A Gifted Man. It's renewal chances most likely won't be announced until May 2012. Until then, you should just continue enjoying the show. :)

The thing working against The Good Wife right now is definitely the late start each week. I think CBS will base its decision off of the springtime ratings, and who knows, maybe CBS will give it one more season to see how it does without Desperate Housewives in the timeslot.

CSI: Miami is most likely a shoe-in for renewal now, despite lower ratings than The Good Wife. With AMC purchasing the syndication rights to the series (including two possible future seasons) CBS is going to milk it for two more years and get the cash out of it.

You want CBS to cut some dead weight? Currently, nearly all of their shows have respectable ratings (except for A Gifted Man), regardless of what they score in the stupid 18-49 demo. CBS is gonna end up cancelling three shows after this season (two sitcoms, one drama) and announce that several long-running favorites are ending after next season (like How I Met Your Mother). CBS is always gonna have trouble making room for new series.

CSI: Las Vegas (renewed through 2013-14)
CSI: Miami (renewed through 2013-14)
CSI: NY (renewed through 2013-14)
Criminal Minds (probably renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
The Mentalist (probably renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
NCIS (renewed for next season)
NCIS: Los Angeles (renewed for next season)
The Good Wife (possibly renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
Hawaii Five-O (renewed through 2013-14)
Blue Bloods (probably renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
Unforgettable (renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
Person of Interest (probably renewed for next season, respectable ratings)
A Gifted Man (cancel after this season, lowest-rated scripted series)

Two and a Half Men (probably renewed for next season)
How I Met Your Mother (already renewed through next season, probably ending after that)
The Big Bang Theory (already renewed through 2013-14)
Rules of Engagement (probably ending after this season; 8 episodes left, will they craft up a proper finale by then?)
Mike & Molly (probably renewed for next season)
2 Broke Girls (renewed for next season)
Rob (probably renewed for next season)

Can you imagine of all three CSI series ended at the same time?

No, Unforgettable is being kept for next season. I'd rather hold off any cancellation/ending for all of the CSI series till 2014, and I do not need to care what any under-35s like you think. Unforgettable ain't had one episode drop below 10 million, so I am defending it whether you like it or not.

No, Unforgettable is being kept for next season.

Very wishful thinking. No evidence whatsoever though. When you have a network doing as well as CBS, you don't need to keep every show that's pulling 10 million, and you physically can't if you wanna introduce new shows. Unforgettable is doing worse than pretty much every other drama on the network (not including shows on Fridays or Good Wife which is a season away from syndication), and it's likely to be cancelled.

As an under-35, you're just saying that because everyone in this board under 35 hates Unforgettable. Or you just care about the 18-49 demo too much. I was just too scared of losing the better series because no series on CBS has announced that they're ending after the current season, and a TV series has to run for at least 4 seasons to get a proper finale, and a series has to dip below 2.4 in the demo and 10 million total viewers. What if The Good Wife moved to Fridays next season, then gets cancelled and gets a series finale on its 'first year of eligibility'?

I just hope the new series NYC 22 bombs this season. If Unforgettable does get cancelled for real, then I can just be mad at the under-35s in this forum and maybe Unforgettable can just move to a cable network.

What about Rob? It has received generally negative reviews, although it's high in total viewership and demo. What if that were cancelled after one season, like Beep My Dad Says?

But what about next season, CBS may have to rearrange their primetime schedule. Original CSI may have to remain on Wednesdays indefinitely until it ends its run. They'll either have 8 comedies and 12 dramas on the schedule, or 6 comedies and 13 dramas on their schedule, plus allotments for some of their reality series (like Survivor and The Amazing Race), and there are 36-40 weeks in an average television season. There's a chance that they may hold off a veteran drama off the fall schedule so it'll return in spring, or premiere very few or no new shows next season. Every time CBS premieres a new show, CBS's primetime schedule is gonna get congested, and may remain that way until at least 2014. How I Met Your Mother is likely to end after next season. And there's probably gonna be a pilot meltdown for next season.

You probably won't reason with me since I'm an "under-35" but there is NO chance that CBS will premiere NO new shows next season. They'll probably premiere a minimum of three dramas and one comedy like they usually do.

There's a chance that they will expand to Saturdays (and I think they should) but a two hour comedy block wouldn't be shocking either since all their biggest hits are comedies despite many successful dramas. A Gifted Man is most likely dead but Unforgettable, the CSI shows, and The Good Wife are not shoo-ins by any means with so many strong shows.

You're right, may have to hold some shows (returning or new) off til midseason, or shorten or limit some episode orders. How about 2 new dramas and 2 new comedies before their schedule gets really congested?

If I had to guess, CBS will go ahead with a 2-hour comedy block on Thursdays, but I don't think that indicates that they'll order more than 1 or 2 new comedies. Just to play it safe, I'd renew Rules of Engagement (at least give the reliable show you've always treated as the black sheep of your network a final season), and as much as I hate to say it, I'd also renew Rob. Move 2 Broke Girls to 9:00pm on Mondays and watch it grow into their new anchor, take a bold risk and move 2.5 Men to Thursdays at 8pm, and have 'Bang' anchor the Thursday night line-up at 9. Here's what I would do...

Monday -
8:00 - HIMYM
8:30 - Mike and Molly
9:00 - 2 Broke Girls
9:30 - New Comedy

Where would they put POI at? That show is finally starting to gell in the ratings. I can't see CBS staring a new night of comedy with Rob ( which I like) and ROE when they both under perform.

Edit: I missed your post about POI. I think if they do this they should move Mike & Molly to 8:30 and move a new show after TAAHM at 9:30 on Thursdays. Maybe Rob or ROE can move to 8:30 on Mondays. I doubt both survive. I think moving POI to Tuesdays at 9 makes more sense. 10:00 ratings are lower and POI is starting to gell. In another year it could really be a hit. NCIS:LA should be able to stand on it's own by now.

No way CBS goes with a two hour comedy block for next season. All of their comedies are aging, and they need to find new hits. I'd expect a new comedy after Two and a Half Men (Mike and Molly goes to Thursdays) and that is about it.

Next season will most likely be the final season of Two and a Half Men, and the following it'll be How I Met Your Mother.

Hmm... maybe behind Undercover Boss, they think it might get them a low 2 rating? That would definitely be fantastic for a Friday night! I was thinking they might move The Good Wife to Fridays at 9 behind UB, but I guess CBS doesn't see the point in trying it out in yet another slot!

With this in mind, sorry, I love to predict, here's what I think Fall 2012 will look like...

Sunday –
8:00p – The Amazing Race
9:00p – The Good Wife
10:00p – CSI: Miami (now with a new syndication deal with AMC, I doubt it’s going anywhere!)

Monday –
8:00pm – How I Met Your Mother
8:30pm – Mike and Molly
9:00pm – Two and a Half Men
9:30pm – Rob
10:00pm – Hawaii 5-0

Tuesday –
8:00pm – NCIS
9:00pm – NCIS: Los Angeles
10:00pm – NEW DRAMA

Wednesday –
8:00pm – Survivor
9:00pm – Criminal Minds
10:00pm – CSI:

Thursday –
8:00pm – 2 Broke Girls (I would think they might wanna prep it to anchor Mondays once 2.5 Men concludes in the next year or two by airing it after that show at 9:30 Mondays, but that'll all depend on whether Rob and/or Rules get renewed. Plus, it looks like CBS is more interested in getting a 2-hour comedy block on Thursdays off the ground, and TBBT is clearly the show to anchor it. This is the only other sitcom strong [and young] enough to kick the night off strong)
8:30pm – NEW COMEDY
9:00pm – The Big Bang Theory
9:30pm – Rules of Engagement (I don't think they wanted to shorten its order this year, they had to! They needed the space! It needs one more season to break 88 episodes, and if given a full order, I'm quite sure it'll be breaking 100. It has always been reliable, and it deserves a final season)
10:00pm – Person of Interest

Friday –
8:00pm – Undercover Boss
9:00pm – The Mentalist
10:00pm – Blue Bloods

CBS is all repeats on March 1 except for the season finale of Rob. On March 8 they're all new except for 8:30. Shouldn't the Rob finale have been saved for the 8th? It's not like it is a burn-off, Rob has a good shot at a 2nd season.

CBS is all repeats on March 1 except for the season finale of Rob. On March 8 they're all new except for 8:30. Shouldn't the Rob finale have been saved for the 8th? It's not like it is a burn-off, Rob has a good shot at a 2nd season.
Eh, no point of airing seven straight episodes and then holding a new episode for a week. Plus, I'm sure the repeats of The Big Bang Theory will do just fine at 830 (if not better than Rob). I'd also like to see an encore (or new episode) of Mike and Molly to see how it does in the timeslot.

Either way, I'll be waiting for Rules of Engagement to return at the end of March.

Right there with you! Us 'Rules' fans have had a drought when it comes to getting new episodes this season! First delays, frequent time shifts before the premiere, and then a four and a half month hiatus. If the show comes back with low-to-mid 3's despite a complete lack of promotion and months off the air, it DESERVES renewal!

Agreed. If it comes back to above what Rob is doing, it will most likely cancel Rob and renew Rules. Or that's at least what I'm hoping!

It'll simply have to tie 'Rob'... I mean, think about it. They're 6 seasons in, they're starting in syndication in September on Tribune locals, Lifetime, and WGN, and they'll only have 87 episodes produced. You'd think the network (and Sony) would prosper from producing as many episodes as they can. They'd only need 13 more episodes to hit the 100 mark, and plus, although I too don't believe that shows deserve series finales, shows in syndication probably benefit from having loose ends tied up. If all it takes for a show raking in 10-11 million viewers to hit the 100 mark is a 13-episode renewal, I think CBS and Sony would be crazy not to come to an agreement.

I mean, Rules of Engagement will no doubt outrank Rob. The only time 'Rules' dropped below a 3.0 demo was for the winter finale, which aired behind a repeat of The Big Bang Theory. And the fact it's so close to syndication will most likely play a part in its renewal/cancellation.

I've found a rare reality show worth watching: Dogs in the City. I hope this hits, then it can stay where it is and Big Brothel can move an hour later when it comes back.
